Story was interesting, but the battles and the game don't offer enough experience to justify the amount of trash mob battles to 'grind' up levels, leaving the player feeling frustrated.
https://youtu.be/uJwsOY8wQFo I am not going to get into my usual reviews, because I did not finish the game. The plot and story were interesting, but the combat was what kinda killed it for me. Many of the enemies towards Chapter 3 and onward felt more like damage sponges, and in Chapter 5 it took 5-10 minutes for each trash mob battle. The amount of XP given is so low as to make it feel like it's not worthwhile. The problem is the game gives you the option to turn off experience, but even with other factors to increase your experience you still feel under-leveled at certain points. For this reason I cannot finish nor recommend the game.
8/10 so far. Good story line, diverse character line-up, atypical plot twists to make things interesting. I will come back and adjust as I progress through the game if needed. If you are a fan of older styled JRPGs, you should like this one. At times it does feel like it could get a little grindy, but that may be just me and my OCD trying to learn skills before I progress to a new area.

Many people seem to praise this game but i cant see it. Pretty bad writing with basic RPGM combat kills the game for me. + encounter rate can be set in game + somewhat interesting premise + included bestiary, notebook with lore - boring, default RPGM combat - if you played one RPGM game you played them all. - boring dungeons with very basic map design. - writing, especially dialogue, is terrible. - default RPGM tile set and most enemies if you want to play decent RPGM games check out Last Dream, Forever Alone or Skyborne instead. You can get them for a similar price.
Lenghty, with lots of sidequests, secrets, equipments, skills, etc. Turn-based. A good story. World Map. Airship. What else do a JRPG fan needs? It’s a RPG Maker game, so it has its limitations, but it’s a very well made game, with visible effort from the devs to build a really enticing game. Totally worth the price.
For those who love turn based jrpgs of olden times, this is a classic. Those who love to grind...you'll love this game because it rewards grinding. (I know, I'm a minority here. But when you get an opportunity to one shot the "final" boss due to getting secret weapons from the secret boss...how can I pass that up?) But it's not all grinding. I liked the grey lines of morality in the game. If you like classic heroes...this one's not so much in that category. But if you like those who make questionable choices, give Empire a try. I can't wait to try its sequel, Mystica.
Excellent addition to my STEAM library! Very enjoyable little RPG with a rather unique storyline and plenty of sidequests, many of which are quite difficult (but well worth the effort). It took me over 100 hours to complete everything that EMPIRE had to offer Well worth the purchase price!
Good soundtrack and atmosphere. I liked the subtleties like the birds and the weather effects. It's a fun little RPG, worth the price.
So far, it seems like Empire is one of the really, really good ones. Biggest and only complaint at the moment is that its name isn't really searchable. It does a great job establishing the characters, and it felt both well-made and polished. No bugs, spelling mistakes, or indications of anything amateurish at all. It is a traditional fantasy RPG, but sometimes, the formula is seen so often for a reason - because it works.
El Juego esta muy bueno, lastima lo tengo que reembolsar por algo personal(no adentro o cosa relacionada con el juego), por eso tengo poco tiempo en el juego, pero es una maravilla RPG 9.50/10
I've played a ton of RPGMaker games and this one's pretty polished for a 20 peso game. Highly recommended.
