I very tentatively recommend this game. It has some pretty neat original music, the combat system is interesting, and the story was relatively linear but entertaining enough. However, you should be warned ahead of time that this game has secrets. Many, many secrets. And I'm not just talking about the 54 secret rooms or the 7 mega secret rooms. No, sometimes you need to find secret passages and switches just to advance in regular dungeons. And this was so immensely frustrating that I think they did it so people would have to buy their strategy guide. That aside... well, it was fairly fun.
Wandered the skies in a cloud-cloak - enemies fell not from blades but from sheer elegance. Even the stars asked for autographs.

Great game, typical Aldorlea style. Lot of collectable items, interesting enough story, easy or hard depending on how you want to play (taking your time vs rushing). It almost feels illegal that this only costs 4 euros.

I'd recommend Elendia Ceus as a solid Aldorlea RPG. If you've played other Aldorlea games, you know what to expect at least a little bit. Solid characters, fun combat, lots of hidden rooms and a decent challenge. I played on hard mode and it took me 22 hours to beat, and that is with some afk time and a few hours of grinding because I played on hard. To the people in the other reviews complaining that healing takes 75% of your gold, that is merely an option that I never used once! The game has normal healing potions, healing spells, you sleep at inns, etc. There is simply an option to insta-rest at these lamps and lose 75% of your gold. It's never required nor is it necessary to beat the game on hard. Storywise, I thought the game was solid. The characters were interesting although it should be noted that you only ever get 4 party members so there's no strategy swapping out npcs. The story completes at a good pace and sometimes it is just nice to play a shorter rpg for once, one that you can actually complete in a weekend rather than that 100 hour JRPG you have been putting off playing for months :P Like most Adorlea games, there's a ton of hidden rooms for you to find. Luckily, someone has very nicely made a Steam guide on where the secret rooms are. There's only 5 achievements and I manged to get 4 of 5. There is one achievement that is timelocked and has to do with the arena. I missed it and recommend looking it up ahead of time. Other than that, I had a pretty fun time with the game. The bosses were challenging, the length was short and sweet, and it has solid characters and a decent plot. If you're new to Aldorlea games, I'd recommend starting with their very fun and epic Millennium series. But if you've played that series and are looking for a solid 16-22 hour game, then I'd recommend Elendia Ceus as a fun rpg.
I might come back and try it again later, but as it stands right now, it has a couple of problems that are making me back-burner this for now. First off, there is no explanation of Astrology and what it does. Apparently, if you say yes, it gives some of your characters random zodiac-based abilities? I think? I don't know if it comes at the cost of getting something if you say no, but I know that the zodiac names abilities I got were garbage. This leads into my second issue, which is that I got to the point where I have 3 characters in my party, but 2 of them literally do no damage against the 2nd boss, and have no damage-dealing abilities to make up for it. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I've done plenty of leveling and haven't been avoiding battles. It feels like a bad balance issue. Finally, there's the issue that crops up a lot in RPG-maker and other "old-school" RPGs: out of battle healing. Historically, RPGs were predicated on having the ability to heal outside of combat, because they essentially needed that added as a way of increasing the difficulty. Modern RPGs handle that in different ways, but Elendia Ceus drops the ball so hard here. It has the problem of there being very few places early on to be able to stock up on goods, giving you very little room for error when heading to a dungeon. And then, in one of the most bafflingly stupid mechanics I have ever seen in a game, the only way to completely heal your HP is to pay 75% of your gold to heal at save points. Which is another issue - saving anywhere is kind of a thing in RPGs these days, and having set points to save is another old-school mechanic that just needs to go away (or be like Edge of Eternity and give you the option to choose save points only or save anywhere). I like the presentation aspects for the most part, but it's not enough to overcome the frustrations for me at the moment.
