Loved the game and the characters! Wonderful 1.5 hours spent. <3

Short and sweet, very clearly a labor of love, spawned by creative minds. The presentation is on point: a lot of games with abstract styles have this tendency to slowly wear your brain down, but this game does the exact opposite. It stimulates it just right to feel both engaging and very laid back, never once feeling like 'too much'. in my experience, that's really hard to pull off, so massive props to the makers of this beautiful little gem!
Very charming and adorable experience! Relaxing and chill. I quite enjoyed the other game made by the same developers so have been wanting to play this since it was released and have been keeping an eye on it beforehand. Finally, I got around to playing it! Very lovely pleasant experience, amusing characters, quirky art style, and enjoyable puzzles! Although I didn't use it, I appreciate that there is a skip feature on puzzles that could pose a challenge, it feels like an experience that is fair and welcoming to all players. There's a very fun feeling for progression, the way you unlock things with special rewards. I quite enjoyed the music and atmosphere the game created. The story was fairly unique and interesting too, being that it set world right, was easy to consume, digestible, and fun. The dialogue was entertaining with goofy options to add on to that. There was one thing I struggled to figure out which was so SO simple - I was a massive dingus.
It was where the sewer entrance was. I spent a vast amount of time searching around, poking my nose in odd corners, only to finally unravel that it was right before my very eyes all along!! It was in the room where I was tasked with going to the sewer in... Right on the ground!! The directions in the notebook were simply to use once I was inside, not to find the way in! Urgh!!
Welp! Thought I'd do a quick review to give a thumbs up! Excited to see more games from these guys!
ELECTROBASIS is an experimental adventure title from Rat Room Games that blends surreal storytelling, exploration mechanics, and offbeat humor into an experience that feels distinctly separate from conventional indie releases. Rather than relying on combat-heavy gameplay or traditional progression systems, the game places most of its focus on atmosphere, worldbuilding, and interactions with unusual characters. The result is a strange but memorable adventure that embraces creativity at every opportunity and builds an identity entirely its own. The setting is one of the game's biggest strengths. ELECTROBASIS introduces players to an alternate version of Earth shaped by supernatural events and unusual social evolution. In this world, angels have become part of ordinary society, adapting to humanity rather than existing as distant divine figures. These beings, referred to as cherubs, possess electrical forms and adopt object-like appearances to exist physically within civilization. This concept alone creates a setting that immediately sparks curiosity, giving the game a distinct tone that mixes absurdity with mystery. Players take control of a fallen angel who unexpectedly crashes into a struggling casino in Las Vegas. From there, the game gradually unfolds into a narrative centered around restoration, discovery, and helping others rebuild what has been lost. The casino acts as both a central hub and an important storytelling device. As players restore functionality to damaged areas and interact with residents, the world slowly reveals its history, personalities, and strange internal logic. The character writing stands out as one of ELECTROBASIS' greatest achievements. The people encountered throughout the casino and surrounding locations are unusual in ways that feel intentional rather than random. Conversations range from humorous exchanges to more emotional moments, giving the world life beyond its visual creativity. Rat Room Games clearly prioritized personality in its storytelling design. Each resident feels like part of a larger ecosystem rather than existing solely to deliver quests or objectives. Dialogue carries much of the experience, and players who enjoy narrative-focused adventures will likely appreciate how much effort has been invested into building memorable interactions. Humor appears frequently throughout the game, but it avoids becoming repetitive by balancing absurd comedy with moments of sincerity. The writing often embraces strange ideas confidently, helping ELECTROBASIS establish a distinctive voice that separates it from other indie projects. Visually, the game complements its surreal premise through an artistic approach that values style over realism. The unusual character designs immediately stand out, especially the electrically powered angelic beings that populate the world. Environmental design reinforces the game's dreamlike quality, creating locations that feel slightly disconnected from reality without becoming completely abstract. The casino itself becomes a centerpiece of visual storytelling, reflecting both decay and hope through its presentation. Gameplay systems remain intentionally accessible. Exploration serves as the primary activity, encouraging players to move through environments at a relaxed pace while uncovering details about the world and its inhabitants. Puzzle elements exist to support progression and maintain engagement rather than create significant difficulty. Platforming mechanics also appear throughout the experience, adding movement variety without overwhelming players who primarily came for narrative exploration. This lighter gameplay structure will not appeal equally to everyone. Players searching for demanding mechanical depth or fast-paced action may find ELECTROBASIS slower than expected. The game moves deliberately, often prioritizing conversations and environmental immersion over constant gameplay intensity. However, this design choice feels intentional rather than limiting. Rat Room Games appears focused on delivering a reflective and character-driven experience rather than chasing mainstream trends. Audio presentation contributes strongly to immersion. Music helps establish emotional tone while reinforcing the surreal atmosphere that defines much of the adventure. Sound design supports quieter moments effectively, giving exploration segments greater emotional weight. Combined with the visual identity and writing quality, the audio work helps unify the experience into something cohesive despite its unusual premise. What ultimately makes ELECTROBASIS memorable is its confidence. Many experimental indie games introduce unusual concepts but struggle to fully commit to them. Rat Room Games avoids that problem by embracing its eccentric ideas completely. From object-headed cherubs to supernatural casino restoration and dialogue-driven exploration, every component supports the game's larger identity. ELECTROBASIS succeeds not because it tries to appeal to every type of player, but because it understands exactly what kind of experience it wants to create. It offers a strange, thoughtful, and occasionally humorous journey through a world unlike anything players typically encounter. Those willing to embrace its unconventional structure will discover an indie adventure filled with imagination and personality. Rating: 8/10
It was a fun and silly game I really enjoyed! The visuals and dialogue were great and the puzzles were pretty neat :)
THIS WAS SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE AND DEFINITELY GOING UP IN MY ALL TIME FAVS!! The concept itself is so cool as someone who has been obsessed with angels for a while now, the idea that angels are similar to electricity is such a creative and interesting take! All the character designs are absolutely delightful and you can really see all the love and effort that went into this game. I immediately fell in love with it when I started and I'll definitely be replaying to find all the fun secrets! 10/10!
