Took me a long time to finally get to this one but can say after my first playthrough this is easily in my top 5 games of all time, if not higher. I have played all the soulsborne games and this is definitely the most accessible and least frustrating due to the open nature of the game. That being said... It is still a Fromsoft game. If you have never played a souls game before although this is the easiest of the bunch I still had to look up where to go multiple times, rolled off edges when I was trying to dodge and died 10+ times on some bosses and more traversing the areas to those bosses. The level design is obtuse at times and can be frustrating however intentional, but this is backed up by one of the most stunning, mysterious and lore rich dark fantasy worlds ever created. Not saying this as a massive criticism more for players who have never played a souls game and have seen stunning reviews. It is definitely worth it but this is not Skyrim, as long as you know what you are getting yourself into this is the peak of souls gameplay in my opinion. The environments, animations, variety, soundtracks and obviously combat are all top notch and the number of builds and variety gives the game a lot of replayability. Was waiting for a sale for a long time and wondered why it held it's price and eventually gave in, now I know. Easily worth full price if you don't mind a challenge and looking things up if you get stuck.
