I loved this game and for some the rinse and repeat of quest gets tiresome but i loved it for what it was. For me i enjoyed the game very much i got to be apart of my own story, creating my own bonds and interacting with the main characters like anybody else would, going through the start of the death game. 87.4 hours from (demo) Beta start to finishing up the last boss and it was worth it for a fan of SAO like me. sure i would like to explore more floors like anybody else but that will come in time. the combat is good the story is good and its not as much slop as everybody makes it out to be.
Brainrot for SAO fans
Pros : - Gameplay loop is very tight, and very obviously designed to get your dopamine flowing : get anxious because map is blank -> find safe area -> get list of treasure chests to open -> rinse and repeat - Runs well on my rig (4060 Ti + 32 GB RAM), I think it'll run on potatoes as well, it's basically just genshin spec - Fun combat. Sometimes punishing, but overall really fun - Original characters that are well designed - Atmospheric. Feels like you're in SAO Cons : - Cutscene sometimes are bugged, mouth/sounds not matching - Like the source material, it has no idea what an MMO is - It's having an identity crisis. Is it a souls-like? is it a monhun-like? is it a free roam RPG? is it level based? ends up with a mish-mash of features that sometimes fights each other - Camera sometimes fights you, if you are easily frustrated, this'll get you - The choice of weapons are limited
8/10
because I'm an SAO fan
After putting in 140+ hours, I can say this is worth your time when on sell and for a first time clear. I would not advise anyone play this game on very hard and death game mode, as their are still too many bugs, the game favorers hording over in-depth boss mechanics, and monsters will offscreen hit you from half a field away. Pros: Souls-lite mixed with JRPG action/adventure shenanigans, easy progression to follow with meaningful choices, flashy yet not overwhelming sword arts, steady level, weapon, and armor progression, fun combat. Cons: Hording vs Challenging Boss mechanics, off screen attacks, damage that spikes too often, too many weapons have lackluster choices leading to BIS (best in slot), too little armor variety, certain NPCS are too weak or broken (bad) to make them a viable partner leading to top tier choices (Argo, Musoh, Kirito, Agil) too many zones and hubs instead of an open world experience (requires mods to have an mmo open world feel).
At first, i thought it was a weak game. Now i must admit its awesome. Sure, people complain about the emptiness of the world but its not empty at all. Enemies are around every corner and they can be quite challenging in packs, even with AOE. Its a balanced experience and Iori is awesome. Just play it and maybe try to see it not as a failed SAO title but a fun game.
If I did get trap on this game - just PK me or just gonna off myself on a cliff. Imagine playing this for 10 more floors. Hell nah.
JUEGO MUY REPETITIVO. SOLO LO RECOMENDARIAPARA LOS AMANTES DEL ANIME O DEL RPG
love the loading screen art, but i need more floors
Yes there are some bugs, no theres not multiplayer, yet, but im sure theres a lot to come to us in the hopefully, near future with the DLC
