Earthshakers is an action shooting game that fights against enemies as a post-human "puppeteer" born with the ability to manipulate machines in the future world where the war between humans and machines is deepening.

Bugs ruin anything this demo might if had going for it. Check out my full preview here https://youtu.be/E2EAGrABVcw
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Please note: Oculus users on Windows 10 will probably need to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix, then also probably start game from SteamVR versus starting from Steam library This is a cool little demo that is rough around the edges. Unfortunately, I encountered a bug (I think it was at the end of the demo). I could not get past that bug where it said to press trigger and showed some hands icons for me to place my motion controller while doing so, but it just kept repeating the instructions. I had done this before in the demo, but this time it didn't work correctly for whatever reason. It took me about 20 minutes to get to this point, which I assume would have been the end fight. This is basically a shooter with a slow time mechanic. There is full locomotion with snap turning. You can also dash forward, which you can later use with either a shield or sword to do some neat stuff. Unfortunately, walking normally seems a little too slow and it feels like you're gliding though the levels. You also have to click on your joystick to snap turn, which can be annoying. Guns were okay, but I noticed several errors. Guns would disappear. You could pick up some guns at times, but then you couldn't pick up others or they would disappear. I tried holstering and my gun and sword disappeared. The gun physics / ballistics were subpar. The graphics were good, but I did notice several frame rate drops, especially when there were several enemies on screen (on my 1060 GTX). The sound quality was also subpar. The level designs were pretty linear and it was mostly just hallways. The enemies were pretty forgettable. There is a boss-fight at the end and it was okay. Rate 6/10. Not bad for a demo. Main game would need a lot more polish to be recommendable though.
Whenever I play their is this bug where I am stuck in the floor and I can't get out I tried everything to fix it but it wont work.

Earthshakers is a free VR first person shooter game that is listed as demo. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. I didn't see any bugs on my brief playthrough but other reviewers say this is buggy. The movement mode was ok and didn't give me motion sickness. Try it, if you like FPS games.
"Earthshakers" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Earthshakers". Earthshakers is a badly done VR tech demo... clearly they were hoping to make some kind of epic first person VR action adventure to rival Half-Life Alyx, but came nowhere close, realised game development is way too hard, gave up and went home. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Earthshakers, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Earthshakers" too. Usually the purpose of these advertisements is to get you to shell out money to the developer to buy the full product, but the developer hasn't bothered actually making a product you can buy, leaving this as an advertisement for nothing. We must question what value this pointless advertising has for gamers... and the answer is "none". Due to the poor public response amongst gamers for this advertisement, it seems unlikely the developer will go on to make the full product, leaving this bug riddled advertisement here on Steam just to pollute the place, I guess. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... it kinda looked ok but that's because most of the assets look like they're flipped. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 14 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
Needs work but is alright for an early demo.
