Feels a bit grindy and hard to find mission spots at the beginning, but once you get a hang of it, it completely changed the perspective after upgrades and especially manifest+ dash skills are great! love the vibes and music. P.S dont be so scared of the night!
Was recommended this game by a friend. One of the best games I've played. It combines cozy fishing and horror so well. The fishing (and dredging) mechanic is simple enough to be grasped while providing just enough challenge to prevent it from being completely boring over time. I enjoyed a lot of hours sailing around, fishing and collecting new fish and abherrations. (And I enjoyed a lot of hours being spooked and creeped out by the horror – this is not sarcasm). The map is pretty small, however, consisting of only 5 main regions. And once you're done with the anomaly/boss of a region, that's pretty much it for that place. Atmosphere is excellent, both from the music and visual. And if speaking about the visual, it's gorgeous – it's a great example of "less is more": the style is simple, yet it really enhances the game's atmosphere. And the soundtrack! I'd be writing paragraphs only gushing about it, so I'll stop here. The fish and creature designs are great; the dev did right by Lovecraftian horror with them. And the characters, while they don't often appear since you're more often at sea, are interesting and likable, both design-wise and character-wise. The story and mystery is quite gripping. The game lets you piece the clues together from documents and conversations instead of telling it to you outright, and I really appreciate that. The endings almost got me in tears. They didn't need a grand spectacle or a lot of texts/words to make an impact; the revelation, the scene, and the music were more than enough. TL;DR amazing game. Enjoyed it very much. The dev team has created something beautiful and haunting here, I hope they know that.
A great relaxing game, with a little Spook factor. Never anticipated liking a fishing game, but the mechanics are novel and much better than "Bobber timing" I still waiting for a spear fishing thing like Amazon Trail.
In a time where every game has bored me, all new releases feel very low effort and just a waste of time. i tried dredge on android first and found myself genuinely enjoying it. Decided to buy it for PC and play with with a controller and its honestly addicting and very very enjoyable. its been a while since a game has entertained me. has a great story, huge DLCs, lovely art style and sound design and its just an awesome way to pass some time. definitely recommend you buy it.
good game
I got thalassophobia, although I like the game, I just can't play it. 10/10
Final Score: 7
A very very fun game. I was hooked and then sucked in by the ice & oil rig DLCs. I do wish that you didn't need those DLCs to 100% complete the achievements, however there is the other side of it being unique that there are DLC achievements. The game is relaxing and has a mostly solid player growth/strength growth. The only minor nitpick I have is that things aren't always very intuitive. I even managed to rope another friend of mine who's not typically into games into playing it. This person is someone who's pretty against a lot of video games and I can count on one hand how many they've played outside of Dredge, but they also got a lot of enjoyment so far in their playthrough!
