Amazing story line
There are games that turn up out of the blue to germinate a completely new genre. Dredge is definitively one of them. Black Salt Games has masterfully intertwined cosmic horror, artistic depth, homage to Hemingway without distancing from an original story Already a genre is defined—a plethora of sailing-boat games popping up lately. The DLCs were equally worth it; newcomers should buy them together with the main game at the outset for the ideal experience. Best wishes and thank you for the unforgettable memories.
I'm hooked. Cosy, moody fishing game but it has more to it than I originally expected. I thought it would be fairly simple, just fishing, but it actually has more mechanics and things to consider which make it very engaging. Highly recommend if you like the look of the trailer.
9/10 fun exploration game with fishing, some horror
I make this my own ASMR game to forget current world status war, woman , wealth....com It is good to be good.
Fishy. Sometimes crabby. <><
Never knew fishing could be this addictive. The game is well-structured with a free progression system. No matter where you go, the choice is yours which feels very liberating, but also terrifying to leave that small bay that you grew so accustomed to. Truly though, setting out on the open seas is downright horrifying for the first time, especially with the tight day-night rhythm. That is my one grievance with the game: the day-night cycle really limits you in freedom and days are very short, leaving you very little time to actually progress, or face the horrors of sleep deprivation on open waters. The story is especially gripping and went in a direction I did not expect. Characters you meet along the way are fun to interact with and each bears a certain melancholy as you learn more and more about their history. In terms of gameplay, fishing up different species with different methods gives a breath of fresh air to what would be quite repetitive gameplay. The DLCs add even more things to appreciate and explore in the game. The horror, although subtle, is very effective. I've never felt more terrified of open waters at night. Yet, despite the horror, it still feels like a cozy game. It grows on you to routinely set out to sea and fulfil tasks of the inhabitants that you meet along the way. Each area also has a specific problem to solve which was quite fun and distinct to the other areas, never just feeling like a fetch-quest. Highly recommend this game, as it is truly unique.
Good
Dredge is a fantastic game. It's one of the few that captivated me from beginning to end. I actually finished it in one day, in eight hours. Although it's quite simple at its core and nothing is really overwhelming, it was superb. It's incredibly straightforward, but extremely fun. I generally really enjoy Lovecraft games, but this one truly delivered. Definitely recommended and it runs surprisingly well and a long battery time on Steam Deck.
Super gameplay et exellent lore
