"DreamFly" is a rather pointless VR tech demo where you pretend to be a bird and flap around a bunch of probably asset flipped trees. What do you do in the game? Flap your arms around in VR. There's no goal, this doesn't really even qualify as a game. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $7 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 10 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Before I played DreamFly, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This game is absolutely amazing, after the learning curve. Once you get after the learning curve you might enjoy the game as much as I do.
Trash every time I go to fly the bird tilts to the left making me fall down even though my wings are angled perfectly
Love this game! But I really wish that it was compatible with the valve index :/
au début je vous conseille de fzire un tutoriell car je my connais rien et je tombe mais avec un tutoriel sa aiderait beacuop de personne svp !
runs badly, way too hard to fly, and the most motion sickness i have ever experienced in a game
☀️
Constant visual glitches, buttons don't work, game freezes and crashes on exit, nothing to do beyond figuring out the physics, and yet this is one of the coolest experiences I've had. If you're a fan of movement-focused VR titles like Jet Island or Gorilla Tag, then definitely give this a try. It's unforgiving, and probably a no-go if you have motion sickness, but it also only took me maybe 15 minutes to get the hang of it. I'd love to see this mechanic implemented into an actual game or this expanded and polished to provide some goals to achieve. For everyone complaining about the difficulty, spend some more time birdwatching and/or dreaming. It's really not that bad.
