This has been the only game ive been playing... help me
as a fan of the original dragon nest i really like the story and character development the game mechanic is kinda like generic rpg today, not unique but not that bad either
It's a gacha game without the gacha. It's built from ground up pretty much like a gacha open world, from the progression, exploration, quest, etc. But again, without a lot of the limitations that is imposed by gacha games like time gating, stamina and of course, the need for premium currencies. Honestly for that reason alone this is worth a buy, especially with that price tag. If you played any of those open world gachas before, it's a unique feeling in this game where you are completely free from the limitations. Oh you picked the wrong character? Just play a bit more and you'll get to choose another. Oh you built this character wrong? No worries you can just grind in the dungeon till your face melts as there's no stamina. It's like you're cheating, but you're not. Though I gotta say the game isn't free of flaws. Heck there's a ton of them. The game has a rough feeling to it, a bit unpolished. You get stuck in terrain, boss hitboxes sometimes felt nonsensical, quests where you just talk to bunch of people and nothing else. So do put this in mind. Thankfully the performance is decent, at least for me, which is a pleasant surprise. The combat is... Okay I guess. Better than I expected. But it has that "character switch synergy" crap gacha has. In the end it's all about stacking status effects, so if your team don't work together you'll get nowhere. Though in this case like I mentioned, if you choose the wrong character for your team, you can get another soon enough, no need to keep logging in every day praying for handouts from the devs or take out your credit card. The story is... surprisingly decent? It does help that the MC isn't a mute. Your main crew takes a bit to get used to (especially Johnny) but after the story starts getting serious, it does get much better. The side characters are also mostly fun. All in all I think this game is worth a play as long as you know what you're getting into: a gacha game without gacha. As someone who used to play a lot of those, this is such a breath of fresh air. I wish the best for the developers.
