welcome home doom eternal 2
very anger
A metal journy thru blood and guns. EPIC. worth the buy.
While overall not as good as Eternal, Dark Ages brings a cool fantasy aesthetic and is a much easier entry into the franchise. The extra astral boss of the DLC is a unique fight that is really fun. All in all Dark Ages keeps up the extreme badassery of the franchise while a bit slower pace than Eternal.
UN DOOM DIVERSO. IMMENSO, EPICO E DANNATAMENTE DIVERTENTE. Tutto è improntato all'attacco a testa bassa, a caricare gli avversari senza esitazione.
i payed in discout, if i payed the total ammount of 100 euro, the base game plus DLC i would asked for a refound. the story here is simple, the game is fun and fast, but overall the quality and details of allthe game are super low, the graphic looks like less then eternal and came straight from 2016 vibe. the textures are awfull, the models of the enemy are the worst the level design and artistic direction absent, the quality of everything in this game whitch is Doom the FPS are so low that is absurd. they ruin the Best fps game bc they thought it would became again the best fps in town but they made it so basic like only diseny would do, they eliminate multiplayer bc the fan base was so strong that it wouldnt attire new players and so became a basic fps with no quality whatsoever. so i didnt like the enemies design and quality, the scene and the models of the characters are like a JOKE, the level design its like a school exams for 3d artist at the worst school, the designs of the items ingame is worst than this you cannot find in a game. the texures are ♥♥♥♥, models quality ♥♥♥♥, the musich its meh, AWFULL GAME for tik toker wannabe content creators. if you liked this game you never played the real games out there. its a fun game with the worst quality. and i played all the dooms, quake, unreal turnaments games ever made.
spoko
When this was first announced, I was extremely confused and dubious. I gave it a cursory look at release via gamepass and quickly decided it wasn't for me - too big of a deviation from the stuff I like about DOOM and far too much emphasis on lore and story. I picked it up again when Revelations dropped and it actually clicked a lot more this time, enough for me to go through the game, but my core issues are still there. Dark Ages is excellent for half of its runtime, when the game still has comprehensive enemy encounters built around momentum and option select. This is chiefly because early game enemies tend to have more varied attack patterns and are used in far more interesting setups. For a good while, it's actually really solid. The second half is middling. It's not bad, it's just a point where the game begins to really fatigue. The chief culprit of this is the parry system, which is ubiquitous throughout the game but becomes overwhelmingly the main mechanic once you hit the halfway mark, and it's just not good enough to justify how perpetual it gets. A lot of Doom Dark Ages is sort of tedious by volume. Map completion tends to be a chore, challenges aren't particularly creative or interesting, the setpiece additions like the dragon and the mech are genuinely just thin air stretched out over way too long with far too little to do and none of the mechanical complexity that makes the base game fun. The story, for how omnipresent it is, is also frankly bad. I could never shake the feeling that this should have been some sort of Quake installment over Doom. It's entirely possible and honestly recommended to skip the story altogether. There are exactly two cutscenes worth watching in the whole game. The DLC, however, is much better. That's in part because it skips the grind of upgrading your core arsenal, and much more importantly because parrying is no longer your one and only core mechanic. The game feels like it truly becomes realized when you get to switch between shield, spear and every gun at will, but it only lets you do so for a very short amount of time in only a handful of levels. It feels cruel that the spear is just not in the base game. In short, worth picking up on sale like I did if you get the DLC with it. You can honestly play the base game as a tutorial then as soon as you're comfortable with the weapons ditch it and move on to Revelations. I came out of it feeling a little peeved, because the encounters that are bad really highlight just how limited this particular framework is for Doom.
