About
THIS GAME CONTAINS A TRANS MALE CHARACTER. If you can't accept the fact we have ONE trans male guy in this game when we have a universe with more than 50 cisgender ones, get another game. If you can't accept it at all, you are not welcome here. Plus, you can support other gay studios that are only interested in getting your money instead of making a better world. Male Doll is a brand about creating something meaningful for Queer community; we make games that connect with our experiences, and we want to be honest about that. We support trans people; we have trans people on our team, so don't waste our time sending negative reviews only about this representation. That isn't a critique; it's transphobia.
Doll Defenders is an action tower defense game in the Male Doll multiverse where you must protect the sacred statue from monsters, all while meeting heroes and unlocking NSFW scenes/animations on your way to the final boss. Prepare for a unique and fun gameplay mechanic that introduces players to some members of our cast.

Came for the men... that's it.. I came.
Jogo achadinho para o gênero... Bem difícil achar jogo da temática sem ser visual novel... Divertido, com umas imagens gostosinhas e fácil de platinar... Bom rever alguns personagens dos jogos da Male Dolls...
Its cute 8-bit guys but it start getting repetitive protecting a statue and waves. I was board with 30 min of play through. Needs better story line like why do I need to protect a statue and what are the hero's story
Unfortunately this just isn't a very good game. I was bored before the first level even ended. If you think it's anything like Vampire Survivors, you're incorrect. I wouldn't even know what to compare it to, maybe one of the similar titles where you have to manually aim and use weapons but you're more set out to defend a statue as things swarm it. (or you depending on the enemy type). Last 5 waves and it's over. There are bosses at the end of the areas but it's a tall order to go 5 waves and then do the boss. Not that it's hard, but that it's so boring to get to the boss. The combat consists of moving around, then moving your mouse around yourself like a twin stick shooter on m/k, and attacking in the direction of your mouse with a click. The hitboxes of each weapon I've got so far are not too good. I have only completed the forest so far, but it's such a chore that I couldn't wait to finish the game before I did a review. The tree in that section of the game has really bad hitboxes for when it uses it's attack. You can be really far away from it and it'll damage you. Similarly you can hit things pretty far off from where the sword hits visually. The combat improves when you buy a ranged weapon, at least the first bow. You can then just hold the right click and shoot in any direction so it's like a bad twin stick shooter on m/k at that point which is an actual improvement over the "melee combat". But still not ideal. The music cuts out on the world map when you switch areas. I do like the pixel art, and I like that the game consists of other Male Doll series characters. I think it's a nice nod and the price isn't bad for the idea of what this game is supposed to be. It's just the execution is not there at all. I feel like either the game should start with a ranged and melee unlocked to give that variety as an option if you outright hate the melee like myself, or the coins should be earned quicker in the first level so you can unlock it (alternatively make the bow cheaper to unlock so you can get it after the first level). I played two levels and I nearly refunded off that alone. I'll at least finish it and keep the game after using the bow. I'd love to be able to sing the praises of the game, but it just is not worth it to me.
At a Glance Recommendation: Recommended with Caveats Best For: Fans of the Male Doll universe or players looking to support a long-running M/M indie developer. Not For: Players seeking romance, strong gay escapism, or particularly deep tower defense gameplay. Playtime: Approximately 3 hours for full completion and all achievements. MLM Tags: MLM, M4M, Action, Tower Defense, Gay-Centered, Romance-Light, Short Game 💬 Supportive Caveat Doll Defenders is first and foremost a tower defense game. While it takes place in the Male Doll universe and features unlockable M/M content, the gay elements are largely presented as rewards rather than the central focus of the experience. If you're coming here looking for romance, character development, or immersive gay fantasy, this is not the entry point I would recommend. 🎮 Gameplay & Genre Doll Defenders is a straightforward tower defense game where you defend sacred statues from waves of monsters while occasionally rescuing heroes from across the Male Doll multiverse. As you progress, you unlock additional scenes, animations, weapons, and challenges. The mechanics are easy to learn and the game remains approachable throughout its short runtime, with multiple worlds, bosses, weapons, and an endless mode for players who want to keep going after the campaign. I completed the game and earned all achievements in roughly three hours. The biggest issue is repetition. The core gameplay loop works well enough, but it becomes grindy long before the game runs out of levels. Fortunately, the short runtime keeps that from becoming too frustrating. 🔥 M/M Content This is technically a gay-centered game, but only loosely so. Most of the heroes you rescue are gay men, and the unlockable scenes feature M/M content, but there is no romance system, minimal route structure, and no focus on relationships or character development. The player character functions primarily as an avatar for the player rather than a developed protagonist, and is oddly described as a "marshmallow man." Given that role, this felt like a missed opportunity to offer some form of avatar customization, which could have helped players feel more connected to the experience. As it stands, the game's connection to the broader Male Doll universe will likely mean more to existing fans than to newcomers. The store page prominently notes the inclusion of a trans gay male character. While that representation is present and welcome, the pixel-art presentation means individual character details are not a major focus of the experience. Overall, the M/M content feels more like collectible bonus material than the foundation of the game itself. This is not the kind of title I would point to as a strong example of gay escapism, romance, or narrative-driven M/M storytelling. 🎨 Visuals & Style The game uses a retro pixel-art style throughout. Character designs are recognizable, animations are functional, and the unlockable scenes fit the aesthetic established by the rest of the game. Nothing here is especially cutting-edge, but the presentation is simple, cohesive, and appropriate for the scope. 🗣️ Tone & Writing There really isn't any narrative to speak of. The game exists primarily as a vehicle for introducing players to characters from the Male Doll universe rather than telling a substantial story of its own, so most players will likely remember the gameplay and unlockables more than any particular plot development or character arc. 👍 Best Thing It's an affordable and approachable way to support one of the most prolific M/M indie developers on Steam while spending a few hours with characters from the Male Doll universe. 👎 Worst Thing It isn't really a strong tower defense game, and the M/M content is too limited for it to stand out as a M/M game either. ⭐ Final Verdict Doll Defenders is a modest little tower defense game with some M/M content attached. I enjoyed my time with it well enough and don't regret supporting the developer, but I would recommend it more as a curiosity for fans of Male Doll's work than as a must-play M/M title. There is some fun to be found here, just keep your expectations focused on the tower defense gameplay rather than the gay content.

Premise This review reflects my personal experience with the game. While I aim to write thoughtfully and as fairly as possible, my reviews are subjective in nature and should not be used as objective metrics to assess/critique a game. Unlike some of the studio’s shorter VN-focused experiences, this one actually gives the player something active to engage with through its action-defense gameplay loop. The combat is simple, but satisfying enough. Waves move quickly, attacks feel responsive and the faster pacing helps the game avoid the feeling of “clicking through scenes” that some other Male Doll titles struggle with. The addition of Endless Mode was also a genuinely good idea. The daily updates and score-focused structure give competitive players a reason to keep returning beyond simply unlocking achievements. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3732024075 At the same time, I do think the game still suffers from the same issue many Male Doll games struggle with: superficial progression. After a while, enemies start blending together mechanically and combat loses some excitement because encounters rarely evolve in meaningful ways. Adding more unique enemy traits (shield, HP drainage) and different skills/attack patterns would help the gameplay remain engaging for longer sessions. I also think the game would benefit massively from: 1. Character skins or visual unlockables 2. A proper skill tree 3. Progression systems tied to playstyle (weapon of choice) Those kinds of additions would make the combat loop feel much more rewarding over time instead of remaining fairly static throughout the experience. Representation — ★★★★☆ The game clearly knows its audience. Character designs lean into the Male Doll aesthetic, muscular designs, revealing outfits, exaggerated proportions and fanservice-focused presentation throughout. If you are already familiar with the developer’s catalogue, you probably already know exactly what kind of visual style to expect here. That said, representation itself feels fairly surface-level overall. The game focuses far more heavily on visual appeal than character identity or personality, which works fine for an arcade-style action game, but it also means very little stands out emotionally once you step away from the screen. Art & Direction — ★★★★☆ Visually, this is probably one of the stronger-looking Male Doll titles. Animations are smooth and the brighter colour palette helps combat stay visually clear. The overall presentation feels more polished than some of the developer’s earlier games. The soundtrack also fits the faster arcade tone fairly well, though I do think more dynamic music variation during longer sessions would help the Endless Mode feel even more intense. Replayability — ★★★☆☆ This is honestly where the game surprised me most. The Endless Mode updating daily gives the game an ongoing competitive element that fits surprisingly well with its structure. Chasing higher scores, improving runs and comparing performance adds an extra layer that many small indie action games completely lack. Unfortunately, this system needs a bit of work; the changes between stages take too long to commence and you will find yourself playing for over 1 hour at stage 100, feeling like you are repeating the same levels over and over. I still think that this is a smart move. Without that mode, I think replayability would fall off much faster once players finish the base content. Instead, there is at least a reason to return regularly, especially for players who enjoy arcade-style score chasing. Do I recommend it? — ★★★★☆ I think Doll Defenders is one of the more promising Male Doll releases gameplay-wise, even if it still feels somewhat limited in progression and depth. The action itself is enjoyable, the presentation is polished and the Endless Mode genuinely adds replay value in a way I hope the developer continues expanding on in future projects. At the same time, the game still feels a little superficial. More enemy variety, meaningful progression mechanics, unlockable cosmetics, or build customisation, would elevate the experience substantially. I wish I could like this, but the gameplay is very slow and gets repetitive after a couple of levels. I'm always rooting for more LGBT content that strives to be more than a visual novel, so I hope to be able to support the devs' future titles.
This is an interesting game, we play as a marshmallow man, protect statues, and watch very interestig scenes.
The creativity of the developers is just off the scale and on the edge of the limit. The game turned out to be funny, not all scenes can like and should be treated with humor. It was very fun to play.
