This is a revised review. The 1st one was negative, because of the massive difficulty spike after the 1st act, as the game became really frustrating. However, after I was able to beef up my party (it was a tiresome grind), the game makes fun again. So, all in all, I can recommend this game for players, who are willing to really invest a lot of time to develop their characters and to micro-manage their equipment. (not everyone's cup of tea)
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a huge improvement over the first game. Pretty much everything feels more polished, the story and characters are better, and the overall gameplay is much more enjoyable. You can really see how much Larian improved on what they started with in the first one. That said, the quest glitches are still a BIG problem. Some quests can glitch out so badly that you basically have to save-scum just to fix them or avoid breaking your progression. It can be incredibly frustrating when you're enjoying the game and suddenly have to reload an old save because a quest decided to freak out. And that ending… Jesus. A THREE-HOUR final fight sequence with what feels like three bosses back-to-back-to-back is absolutely exhausting. By the end I wasn't even sure if I was still having fun or just trying to survive long enough for the game to finally end. Overall, a massive improvement over the first Divinity, but the quest glitches and ridiculously long finale keep it from being as great as it could have been.
tudo.
