At first the more serious and realistic touch compare to D:OS1 put me off, but this summer I finally did a full playthrough, and I am glad I did. 95% of the game is a masterpiece, some of the best you can find in any RPG. The only thing that bothered me is the ending which felt rushed and disjointed from the overall experience. I had a bit the same feeling in BG3 but here it's especially jarring. I guess at a certain point the possibilities of your playthroughs get so endless they cant take it all into account, but a true ending for such a massice game should at least be the size of a small Act, not some setpiece battle with limited options on how to resolve things. It's cool to see how they took a lot of the same story elements and quests and converted them to a DnD setting, you will recognize many situations from BG3. I didnt miss the 3D cutscenes and such from BG3 here to be honest.

great game
