Stupid game
The idea of a frightening world beyond our screens has been explored in several games including Cyberpunk 2077 and Simulacra. Dissolving explores similar ideas with the added element of wasting away as you become more rooted to the digital world. Overall, the two stories feel a little disjointed and doesn’t really cover new ground. It’s free so it might connect with you more than it did for me, but I can’t recommend this game.
Oyunun konsepti güzel ama işlenişi beni sarmadı çok daha güzel yapılabilirdi onun haricinde kısa bir oyun denemek isteyenler deneyebilir

Nice art and nice hidden achievements... that was cool how when you clicked the...
High potential, too short to tell. Enjoyable for 0.5 - 1h of its gameplay, and its also free. But I`d like so much more with these themes.
я хз откуда это в библиотеке, но раз бесплатно то лайк
Dissolving is a free-to-play psychological horror visual novel developed and published by Flying Whale that delivers a surprisingly complex and unsettling experience despite its relatively short length. Rather than relying on conventional horror techniques, the game focuses on existential dread, internet mythology, emotional trauma, and surreal storytelling. Through a combination of mysterious narrative threads, atmospheric presentation, and thought-provoking themes, it creates an experience that feels both intimate and deeply unsettling. The story centers on a young woman who decides to reconnect with her former boyfriend after learning that he has become isolated from society. What initially appears to be a personal drama quickly evolves into something far stranger. As the protagonist investigates his circumstances, she becomes entangled in a web of disturbing mysteries involving obscure online communities, cryptic entities, and ideas that challenge the boundaries between reality and imagination. The narrative gradually expands beyond its personal beginnings, introducing concepts that feel increasingly cosmic and difficult to comprehend. One of the game's strongest qualities is its storytelling approach. Rather than presenting information directly, Dissolving encourages players to piece together events through observation and interpretation. The narrative unfolds gradually, revealing new layers of meaning as the story progresses. What begins as a relatively straightforward mystery slowly transforms into an exploration of identity, loneliness, memory, and the influence of digital spaces on human lives. This gradual evolution helps maintain suspense and keeps players engaged throughout the experience. The game's use of psychological horror is particularly effective because it rarely depends on traditional scares. Instead, it creates discomfort through uncertainty and implication. Strange conversations, unexplained phenomena, and increasingly bizarre discoveries generate a constant sense of unease. The horror often comes from ideas rather than direct threats, allowing players' imaginations to fill in the gaps. This approach creates a lingering tension that remains effective long after individual scenes have ended. The internet serves as a major thematic element throughout the story. Rather than treating technology as a simple backdrop, Dissolving explores how digital environments can shape identities, relationships, and perceptions of reality. Online communities, hidden information, and virtual interactions become central components of the mystery. The game presents the internet as both a tool for connection and a gateway to unsettling possibilities, giving the narrative a distinctly modern feel. Beneath the supernatural elements lies a surprisingly emotional story. Themes of grief, isolation, regret, and human connection are woven into the narrative, providing an emotional foundation for the more abstract concepts. The characters are not simply vehicles for delivering horror; they are individuals struggling with personal issues that make their experiences feel meaningful. This emotional grounding helps the story resonate on a deeper level and prevents it from becoming purely an intellectual exercise. Another noteworthy aspect is the game's willingness to embrace ambiguity. Dissolving does not always provide clear answers, and many of its most intriguing questions remain open to interpretation. This approach may frustrate players who prefer straightforward storytelling, but it also encourages discussion and analysis. The ambiguity becomes part of the experience, inviting players to develop their own theories about the events they witness. The visual presentation complements the narrative effectively. Character artwork and environmental backgrounds are designed to support the atmosphere rather than dominate it. The art style often feels surreal and dreamlike, reinforcing the sense that reality is gradually becoming unstable. Certain scenes rely on subtle visual changes to create discomfort, demonstrating how effective minimalist horror can be when paired with strong storytelling. Sound design plays an equally important role in establishing the game's mood. The soundtrack alternates between melancholy, mystery, and unease, enhancing both emotional scenes and moments of psychological tension. Silence is frequently used as a tool to heighten suspense, allowing players to absorb the implications of what they have just witnessed. The music and sound effects work together to create an atmosphere that feels consistently unsettling. Despite its many strengths, Dissolving may not appeal to every player. Its short runtime means that some ideas are introduced and explored quickly, leaving little room for extensive development. The abstract nature of the narrative can also be challenging for those seeking clear explanations. Additionally, because it functions primarily as a visual novel, players looking for extensive gameplay mechanics may find the experience limited. However, these characteristics are closely tied to the game's artistic goals and contribute to its unique identity. What makes Dissolving memorable is its ability to accomplish so much within a relatively brief experience. It successfully combines psychological horror, emotional storytelling, philosophical questions, and internet-inspired mythology into a narrative that feels distinctive and thought-provoking. The game constantly encourages players to question what is real, what is imagined, and whether the two can truly be separated. For fans of experimental visual novels, atmospheric horror, and stories that prioritize ideas over traditional scares, Dissolving is an excellent experience. Its unique narrative structure, haunting atmosphere, compelling themes, and emotional depth elevate it above many free-to-play horror titles. While its unconventional storytelling may not satisfy every audience, those willing to embrace its mysteries will find a fascinating and memorable journey that lingers long after the final scene.
