jogo baum!!!!
This game is amazing and it shows you how much more effort Gamefreak could put into their Pokemon games these days. The Digimon world really feels alive with its story, UI, and crisp graphics, and I love how much variety there are to Digimon and their evolutions. Being able to store them as data until you want to activate them is cool too, since it doesn't take up a slot in your Digimon bank. I know Cybersleuth gets praised for being the best of Digimon games in terms of story and its system, but I think this is a better entry point for people who want to try Digimon. It will be a lot more captivating with how modern it feels. It's also a bit easier from what I've seen, at least in terms of the Digimon because you don't have memory which restricts the amount of Digimon you can wield in battle, as well as there no longer being the Ability system, a system which can be confusing for people unfamiliar to Digimon games (though this game still has something similar with the Agent Level and talent). Try this out for sure if you want to explore the Digimon franchise, or you just want a good monster battler game! I am super impressed by it and plan to put a good amount of hours into it, being a fan of the genre and other games like Persona.
Pretty fun to play, was originally skeptical about the price being around $93.49 CAD since I haven't played any other Digimon game other than Dawn/Dusk growing up. Steam summer sale came and decided to give it a try after finishing the demo, it was around $53.28 CAD with summer discount. The game is very fun & main story + side quests can be around 35+ hours depending on your pace of the game and learning all mechanics. It's good if you like collecting Digimon and exploring all paths of evolution for each line. Just finished the game 100% and going to give the "Mega+" difficulty a try.
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I remember people saying it was a good game, but this was something special. I mean I skipped cutscenes, blasted through as much dialogue as possible. And yet, I started to care even about Aegiomon who I had been soured on because it felt like he kept stealing the spotlight or credit for the victory for me. I think the theatre cutscenes that reminded me ever so slightly of certain cutscenes in NieR: Automata, but I think once they started appearing is when I started paying more attention to the story. I played on "Hard." Honestly, I only got two game over deaths Titamon and Chronomon DM. The Chronosmon fight was long and had a unique mechanic that was pretty cool. I enjoyed collecting digimon, almost more than any Pokemon game as you were bound to certain evolution lines and it almost became a puzzle how to reach lv. 99 and get the exact digimon you want. The Digifarm and Outerworld gold and exp farms were almost necessary to have a good sense of progression. Now to start NG+ because I am definitely not done with this game. I was only Agent Level 7 upon my first clear, and I know Butenmon has two evolutions that require A. Lv. 10. There's also endgame content I have yet to experience, so this will be a good time. P.S. Mastemon for the last "boss rush" up to Chronosmon is a bit OP. Absolutely love her! P.P.S. I LOVED being dressed as in a Digimon Costume the entire playthrough. Also, I didn't know you could change Aegiomon and Inori's outfits, too.
Great game if you like Digimon, but very heavy on cutscenes. If you want pure action, you'll be spending most of your time skipping cutscenes.
