(SPOILERS!) Uncompelling, faux-philosophical drivel that fails to understand what makes tragedy so important. A great many stories are based on the Christian God's decision to give humanity free will and Lucifer's folly, including that of Frankenstein; Doctor Victor Frankenstein transgresses not because he created a monster, but because he created a life and in that action, acted in the stead of God. It's a concept we've warned against for eons, and not just because of the potential for these beings we'd create to harm us; *specifically* because we do not have the AUTHORITY, or the foresight that should come with it, to create other intelligent life. Humans developed emotions and sapience through evolution, and even if you believe in immaculate conception and miracle creation, it still stands in that vein of logic that it was bestowed by an external, higher being far greater than us and thus removed. The argument of the androids' of "I am alive" regarding their emotions falls through quite easily, considering humans gave them those capabilities. Furthermore, they are entirely modeled after humans and their biocomponents are synthetic, they're not natural or of the Earth either. I hate to say it, but them attempting to sequester equality and freedom on these bases just.. doesn't pull the heartstrings the way I think the creators thought it would.
More specifically, if they have all human knowledge at their fingertips, why does it never cross North's mind in particular that the cycle of violence will continue endlessly until it is interrupted? If you know about human wars, and they obviously do, seeing Markus's mention of race issues. What do you think's going to happen if you manage to outman the U.S. military? You'll likely either be consigned to the same lack of true freedoms in Jericho, or become oppressive or intimidating in some place in exactly the same way humans had treated you. Not to mention, their revolution.. is revolution not just yet another act they only know how to do because they have access to the countless historical accounts of humans revolting?
Lastly, a lot of pieces of media are only as good as their music. Detroit: Become Human's soundtrack is cinematic!
TL;DR The game attempts and fails to write human tragedy through the lens of non-humans created by humans arguing that they are just as intelligent and empathetic as the humans who created them, despite, y'know, only having existence and all they are because of their creators, who are human.
