Okay so after ditching this program for OVR Toolkit as a soundboard user, that app is vastly superior. But if you a broke ass ♥♥♥♥♥, Desktop+ will do just fine enough, but it won't be as efficient.

This seems to be the only VR app allowing you to correctly view stereoscopic SBS/side-by-side content in your headset.
interesting concept but whenever i try and use it my PC ♥♥♥♥♥ itself and crashes. Not going to lie, i know i have a fairly budget friendly PC but its powerful enough to run MOST Vr games at a healthy 30-60fps at mid graphics. idk how to make this app work, but my pc dies when i try and use it.
Not compatible with OpenVr
Been using Desktop+ for quite some time now after trying out others before it, but this one won the grand prize - Lightweight and simple implementation. It won because after getting used to it and figuring out the various options - it just works great with VR. I use it for general dashboard/surfing/working as well as gaming. I especially like the fluid way you can place and scale monitors/windows and curve them depending on what's necessary, where steamVR dashboard alone is... nah. Also use it ingame as an extra monitor in some VR-titles to watch movies or other media by setting up a shortcut to show/hide the Desktop+ windows. Hell, sometimes I have an enormous screen behind the main screen with a fireplace - great for RPGs. It's free and if this was a game - it would probably be my most played game on steam. Big 1UP to the dev!
Desktop+ is great for using you desktop in steamVR it shows a keyboard and a intuitive mouse interface that works well for using your desktop while in VR, it beats the steam interface by a lot especially with the keyboard built in. and since it is free at least at the time of this review there is literary no reason to not be using it.
i was finally able to pull in vr chat 10/10
This is probably the best Desktop VR you can get. Pair it with Virtual Display Driver you can then display multiple screens in VR. and yes you can use your regular mouse and keyboard and yes you can play lower spec games while in VR with Desktop+
