Amazing game, just a pure blizz to play. Clear GOTY contender. Apart from what i deem are the obvious inspirations like Jet Set Radio and OG skateboard/snowboard titles from early 2000's, i also feel like there is a bit of the original Overwatch visual design mindset in it: "if it's fun, keep it in". I will also add that one of the greatest aspects of this game is that it allows you to make it basically as easy or difficult as you want. You don't need to be a hardcore skating game fan to appreciate this and you can earn all gold medals without being a 17yo button masher – but you CAN also go nuts with chaining your combos for your own pleasure. There's probably a reddit scoreboard to compete in or something. And, even more – where other games add accessibility settings to "dumb down" their games for a bigger audience, this game introduces acessibility settings as earned perks (trains) instead, making it feel a lot more like a strategical choice to enable them, rather than simplifying the game because you can't keep up. It's a 200 IQ design move for a game like this. Thank you Undercoders for this ride! :D
Denshattack! a must play, just not for everyone
First of, i'm going to preface that Denshattack! is not for everyone, it's mostly a vibe game with overloading visuals and a banger sound-track.
#Why should you play Denshattack! ?
Denshattack! is a train drifting / tricking game, it clearly wears its inspirations on its sleeves, and it should come to no surprise that for a game heavely inspired by Jet Set Radio that the art style, character design and music are all very good (a bit on the colorful side but it fits), the story while a generic post-apocaliptic anti big corp one is cute and doesn't overstay its welcom since the game is rather short. The game is easy to understand and feels very good to control most of the time (i'll talk about that later). While there is no inherant difficulty since you can endlessly retry levels, the "hard" part is to get gold medals by being fast, having a good score and completing challenges.
# Why is Denshattack! not for everyone ?
As i stated before the game controls fine most of the time. HOWEVER there is a bit of jank here and there, not landing on some walls or tracks can happen, and this is somewhat frustrating when going for the "no crash" challenges. There is also a bit of a steep learning curve for some tricks and some levels are a bit "die and retry" on some obstacles, meaning you will crash into a wall with not much warning. On the same level, while the Art direction is very good, sometimes there is so much stuff on the screen, it gets hard to see in front of the train. And yes if you ask yourself, the game is WOKE... but honestly who cares, it's the big 2026 if you get offended by climate talk and gender stuff you should probably go back under your rock.
# In clonclusion
Denshattack! is a must play, short vibe game, it is not meant to present much of a challenge to complete of even 100%, if you don't think this is your kind of game, i invite you to at least watch some lets plays or at the very least listen to the OST with some tracks featuring Lotus juice who you've probably heard in the game Persona 3.
This game is too much fun!

GOTY 2026
Highly recommend this game! The gameplay is really satisfying and addictive and the game is always throwing new mechanics at you to learn. By the end of the game you are juggling so many techniques to survive the stages it becomes quite hectic (in a good and entertaining way). I was consistently impressed with the level of creativity on display by the level designs and the boss fights were all great and very distinct from one another. Visuals are stylised and work really well. Also the soundtrack was awesome, will definitely be looking for it on Spotify after this!
I was not expecting a video game to combine my interests of "trains", "rhythm games", and "vtubers" in one package, but I'm glad it happened.
Despite the game getting a little repetitive at times, it is still a ton of fun. Plus the characters are cool and likeable and the game overall is just a good time
