About
Delta Vector is a unique turn-based racing indie game that combines tactical decision-making with vector-based physics. Master the art of precision racing as you calculate your every move across challenging tracks!
Vector-Based Movement: Each turn presents you with 9 possible moves, carefully simulating real racing physics. Your previous speed and direction affect your next move, creating a strategic "domino effect" throughout the race.
Tactical Decision Making: Choose between accelerating, braking, or turning - or combine these moves for advanced maneuvers. Every decision matters as your momentum carries through each turn.
Surface Physics: Race across different surfaces including asphalt and gravel, each affecting your car's handling and speed differently. Master the art of drifting on loose surfaces and maintaining control on tight corners.
Visual Feedback: Watch your car leave tire tracks, kick up gravel, and create smoke effects based on your driving style. The dynamic camera system follows the action, creating an immersive racing experience.
Time Trial: Perfect your racing line in single-player mode. Challenge yourself to complete laps with the fewest possible moves and compete for the best times.
PVP Racing: Challenge your friends in local races. Take turns plotting your moves as you compete head-to-head for racing supremacy.
Challenge Mode: Test your skills in a series of increasingly difficult scenarios. Unlock new cars and tracks as you progress through challenges.
Diverse Track Selection: Race across multiple meticulously designed tracks, each with unique layouts and challenges. From tight technical circuits to high-speed tracks, every course offers a different racing experience.
Car Variety: Choose from a garage of unique vehicles, each with different handling characteristics, speeds, and acceleration profiles.
Visual Effects: Experience dynamic racing effects including tire smoke, exhaust effects, drift marks, and surface-specific particle systems that react to your driving style.
Accessible Controls: Easy to learn, hard to master - use simple mouse clicks or keyboard controls to select your moves, while the game handles the complex physics calculations.
Whether you're a casual racing fan or a hardcore strategist, Delta Vector offers a fresh take on the racing genre, combining the thoughtful planning of turn-based games with the excitement of motorsport physics!

There's definitely something here, but I just don't think it's for me. I like turn based games and I like racing games, but I couldn't get into this. I think for me, this didn't feel anything like a racing game, as it was too slow, and it didn't feel like a good turn-based game, as there were only 9 options each turn and a few turns after making a decision, your decision didn't matter, the strategy wasn't deep enough. When played in real time racing is fascinating because you have to make those decisions constantly and in real time, and that makes it difficult. When abstracted to being turn based, making the right series of moves over a minute or so per lap, it just doesn't satisfy me in the same way that real time racing does.
I really wanted to like this game, but it has some major faults. One, if you're playing single player. All of your time will be spent doing what is basically solo time trials. There are many cars to choose from, but you have to unlock them via challenge mode. Which is basically time trials. On PVE mode you can only put down one other car. So it's quite boring between driving solo or racing against one other car. Which brings me to the second point. COM cars can just drive right through you. So even if you took the better line from the starting point, they will just drive right through your car to make their turn. Enemy racers have zero incentive to take a racing line that avoids your car, unlike actual race sims. This game has something great buried inside of it. But I can't even recommend it at $3. It entertained me for less than 2 hours and I doubt I'll pick it back up, barring a major update of some sort.
