About
Ding Dong! There is a package at the door, and Graveyard Manor’s resident skeleton will need to collect items from the previous occupants of this old Victorian mansion in order to receive it on time without scaring the delivery courier.
Each Family member has a portrait featuring three items the skeleton will need in order to summon their visage. Make sure you find the right combination in order to achieve your task.
In this puzzle/adventure game items can be found on shelves, in cabinets, behind locked doors or even stolen by mice. Will you collect all of the packages in time before the main event?

I feel bad about this one, because this is so close to being great. What we have here is a puzzle / item searching game. 9 parcels are being delivered, and to receive them you have to dress your skeleton up in the clothes for the right recipient. Those clothes are scattered around the large house, and you can only carry 4 items at a time. Some are behind locked doors, and some involved solving puzzles. In principle, this is a lot of fun. There are three problems. First: the time lines are too tight to win this by searching and skill, especially with it not always being quite clear where the usable drawers and chests and such are. We're going back to oldschool, ZX Spectrum game design; best have a pad and pen ready to map out the building and where everything you need can be found! Second: It's poorly explained. I was clicking round that first room for quite a bit, trying to figure out how to get the items I could find to work together, before I realised I could click and drag to make the skeleton move around and walk to other rooms. It was quite a bit after that that I realised WASD also worked for this. The game looks more like a point-and-click game, who knew you had an avatar? I also didn't get what I was meant to do with the outfit items when I found them, which brings me to... Third, and this is the biggy: it's buggy as heck. Not in terms of crashes, not in terms of performance, the actual mechanics are buggy. Drag an item onto another item in the inventory, and they'll both stack in the same slot. Try to drag them onto a third item, and one of those items will disappear. Because of that second point above, when that first happened I thought I'd done the right thing; maybe you combine the outfit parts to the same slot, and that becomes the disguise you need? Nope. If you do this, you just destroyed a critical item, and whatever puzzle or quest sat behind it is now locked off to you. But hey, I realised my mistake, tried again, was doing OK... and then an item I was getting from solving a puzzle just disappeared from hitting "E" at the wrong time? What? In another cases, solving a puzzle presented me with a key that it said I got, but I just... didn't. I could go back and look at the key, but couldn't do anything to actually pick it up. The result of all this is that we have here a rather frustrating, barely functional child of a game. It needs a bit more time to grow up; better player onboarding, bug fixes, and perhaps more playtesting with people who didn't directly make it. I can see the potential here, a little more work and this could be not just passable, but pretty great. As is, though, I cannot recommend this game. It's just not quite ready.

Super buggy....controls do not always work. The time between packages is way too short. I did the first one (after trying like 3 times because the items kept disappearing from my inventory) I did not even have enough time to find the portrait of the next person, let alone the items for them. There needs to be a better tutorial as well. I spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out how to put the items on, when you just have to have them in your inventory when answering the door. This was never explained.
To start off positively, the art in this game is beyond adorable, the concept of the game is captivating, and you can really tell the devs put a great amount of effort into this game. However, this game is extremely buggy! Items disappear from the inventory pretty regularly, one of the puzzle rewards is unobtainable at the moment no matter how i try to pick it up, and the movement sometimes goes wonky for me. there is a drop mechanic for items which makes it disappear instead of actually appearing in the environment how i assumed it was intended for, as well as no way to restart the game without closing the application entirely when items do bug out. Aside from all of the bugs, I can recognize that the game just came out so I hope that it gets some patches. Overall a lot of fun if not a bit frustrating and has a lot of potential to be a great spooky cozy game.
This fiasco calls itself a point n' click yet doesn't play with a mouse, so you can get an instant idea of the quality level, In fact, its so-called User Interface lacks any feature that would be essential to a user. Like an access to a menu. That's right, the most basic and important function of any software is unavailable in game. Even before start, the options are empty anyway; nothing to fix the windowed mode into a playable full screen mode, for instance, or the undying WASD garbage into a playable keyboard scheme. The incompetent in charge found time to code the most asinine nuisances instead. Like a typewriter effect, this one uninterruptible and particularly slow. Or, as feedback to interactions, like popup windows with a close button, in lieu of the simple text bubbles that don't require aiming to be disappeared. You can also see a timer running, and hear events passing by without you, while you're trying to figure out the UI (or lack thereof.) More reasons to Alt-F4 and flush. That's got to be the worst attempt at coding I'll see this month. I certainly hope so, Steam have mercy.
The game looks good, however when you launch the game your task bar gets in the way there is no way to window the game or make the game go in front of the task bar. So because of this a lot of words and how to play the game is cut off making harder to play and less fun.
Such a charming game! Extremely impressive work for a team of just two people. The artwork is fantastic, and its clear to see how much love in care went into the creation of the game. Personally, I find the other reviews to be quite a bit too harsh, I played through the entire game with minimal game-breaking bugs, you can change the delivery times; the timeline is tight but it makes the game a bit harder which I appreciate! Overall its a wonderful seasonal game, its FREE (which is insane for how good it looks), and is 100% worth a play!! Fantastic work Michaela and Eric and I'm excited to see whatever you cook up next!
super cute chill lil game. the artwork is aggressively charming. the sound design is super satisfying, both in terms of fx and also the earworm soundtrack. premise is simple, but theres a low stakes timed element, so you can really decide how relaxing vs. intense you want the game play experience to be. at first I was just happily walking my skeleton around, staring at the environment design and interacting with everything. when I decided to be driven by actual goals, the gameplay was was chill but still challenging and engaging. def smth here for people who like environmental puzzle solvers. game devs clearly paid a lot of attention to detail. game is laden with little quirks, like being able to inconsequentially flush a toilet. love the whole thing. mad props
I installed this free game because I liked the idea of accepting deliveries in the guise of the ghost who had ordered them, the artwork on the store page looked very good, and I read that the developer had made changes to make the game a bit more gentle and forgiving. Well, I tried and failed... and failed... and gave up, and I can only shudder at the thought of how difficult the game must have been before if it still seems impossible to me. I managed to collect the first set of clothing etc, but couldn't even work out how to don it so I missed the first delivery. Then I wasn't allowed to pick up other clothing and items elsewhere, which I guess is to do with having filled the right-hand side of the inventory, but I didn't know how the "container" side of the inventory worked. And I only had one unidentified key but most doors were locked. And - well, at that point all hope of enjoying the game had gone, and time is limited, and there are other games to play that I do understand, so I said "goodbye" to Graveyard Manor. I'm sure that it could be a good game, but it's too frustrating and non-intuitive for me, I'm afraid.
