They're not kidding. This is incredibly hard. Some of the differences are absolutely diabolical. That said, I'm finding it a fantastic game when I can't sleep and just need to stare mindlessly at something for a long stretch of time. The art is surreal and a bit creepy as a result but I love it. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a hard spot the differences game.
This spot-the-difference game takes the classic formula and dials up the challenge substantially. It’s not just about spotting a missing vase or a slightly altered color—some differences are devilishly subtle, making every level feel more like a true puzzle than a casual click-through. What really stands out is the art style. The surreal, slightly eerie visuals build an atmosphere that’s both intriguing and a little unsettling. This gives the process of hunting for differences a unique vibe; it never feels generic or bland. Playing late at night actually enhances the experience, especially when you want something meditative yet demanding. Be prepared to spend real time with each image. Progress isn’t a matter of breezing through levels—at times you'll stare at the two images, convinced you’ve combed every pixel, only to discover a missing detail you overlooked ten times. The satisfaction when you finally find it is real, especially if you’re patient enough to step away and return with fresh eyes. If you’re after a relaxing game, this might flirt with the line of frustration, but it does a great job of encouraging mindfulness and focus. Perseverance is rewarded, and that sense of accomplishment is genuinely earned. For anyone in the mood for a truly difficult, immersive spot-the-difference game, and who doesn’t mind a bit of surreal, creepy art alongside their challenges, this title stands out in its genre.
Picked this up with a friend and decided to race through the “Window Watching” image, to see who could finish it first, while we were on a call. I swear it ended up way harder than we expected, but in a good way. For the competitive souls out there, I highly recommend playing it like this. It was super fun / frustrating The art style is great too. It has that classic old cartoon vibe
Finding differences in this game was actually refreshingly hard!! Really forced me to take time to stop and focus - I had to return to search many times, forced me to mindful, recognize and respect when I was getting frustrated which lead me to feel real accomplishment when I completed a set of photos!!
Completely different from the previous cat games and definitely more difficult, but just as good. My suggestion is one picture (part 1 and 2) per day, unless you have a lot of free time and can rest in between.
Really fun and quite challenging, especially with some of those differences requiring max focus! Very beautiful and cute art with interesting themes as well. Great work on this overall, gonna keep an eye on this dev for their next upcoming games!
Getting this game today was an awesome choice. I wanted something to chill with and not having to think of too much and be too focused. Deja View is using a very interesting gameplay method that feels natural the more you play finding the differences, and there are A LOT of differences indeed. Very nice game to unwind.
Lovely game of spotting the difference in beautiful surreal art creations that is as challenging as it is entertaining. Part of its charm is the music that accompanies each picture and is only outdone by the artwork itself. Overall, I enjoyed this game, and I am looking forward to the next one!
Edit - I've just completed the remaining 13 images of Deja View (each half image having a set of 20 differences to find). Having got more used to the style of the artwork and, more importantly, the types of differences often appearing, these 13 images only took twice as long as the initial 3. I must also admit that I allowed myself to get a hint for the final difference on each half-image if I had found the other 19 differences myself..! All in all, Deja View was a very challenging game with often tiny differences in fantastical and sometimes eerie artworks. The game was very rewarding, very frustrating, and very addictive; I was relieved to complete it - and then started to miss it... ***** In 5.5 hours play time I've only completed 3/16 of this game so far, but I'm writing a review now in case I'm too old to do so when - or perhaps if - I finally finish it. I thought that I was pretty good at spot-the-difference puzzles, but then I played Deja View; perhaps it should be labelled as a "anti-hubris simulator"... Deja View is a hard and challenging spot-the-difference game, and when I say "hard" I mean diamond-hard. It consists of 16 cartoon-style pictures which are divided into two halves. Each half has to be compared with its nearly-twin image containing 20 (often subtle) differences, so in the whole game there are 640 differences to find. When both halves of a picture have been solved, the complete picture can be viewed. Note that there is no instant confirmation of whether a marked difference is correct or not; only when all 20 suspected differences have been marked can the game be asked to check them, at which point any incorrect ones are removed. Related to this is the strange hint system; I used it for one picture to get the related "use a hint" achievement, but I'm trying (ever weakly) to resist using it again. Hints (which are earned by finding differences) can only be used when there are no unchecked differences on the current image i.e. at the very start of playing with a new image (pretty pointless) or immediately after having 20 marked differences checked by the game. There is a good description of how hints work, and why, in the developer's reply to a discussion question. So if you are really stuck, you can randomly place enough "dummy" guesses on an image to reach the magic total of 20, ask the game to check them, and then immediately press the hint icon. There is an excellent and varied set of musical tracks for each picture; as these are unlocked they are added to a "jukebox" feature. So, in summary, a very challenging game (at least for me), but one that gives a huge sense of achievement when a picture is successfully completed. And no worries about value for money given the play time I've had so far for only a small fraction of the puzzles!
