About
Dear Magical Girls is a story-driven defense game where you reshape a magical barrier to hold back waves of beasts.
Arin is a magical girl in her fourth year on the job, tasked with protecting the mana stones that keep the city’s magical infrastructure running.
Between sleepless shifts and emergency dispatches, she enters the Otherworld, raises her barrier, and fights off the beasts lurking within.
Move the vertices of your barrier to expand or shrink your territory.
Attack enemies with mana cannons that travel along the barrier lines.
Expand your territory to secure more resources.
Shrink the barrier to concentrate your firepower in a smaller area.
Keep buffs inside the barrier, and push harmful debuffs out.
You’ll need to keep reshaping your barrier based on the state of the battlefield and the position of nearby resources.
When things get dangerous, stop time, reposition your vertices, and prepare for the next attack.
Use the mana gained from expanding your barrier to add new vertices.
More vertices allow you to form more complex barrier shapes, increasing your offensive options.
Upgrade your attack power and attack speed, and build the shape and firepower you need for each wave.
As the story progresses, new modules and enchants will be unlocked.
Equip new attack modules, and use enchants to enhance the traits of your existing ones.
Reshape your barrier around the movement and attack patterns of your modules.
With each wave, the beasts grow stronger. Victory depends on how you shape your barrier and manage your mana.
After each mission, you’ll return to the city and see Arin’s life as a magical girl.
Meet Charlotte, a veteran magical girl; Lily, a girl who admires magical girls; and the people living throughout the city.
As emergency calls keep coming and mysterious disappearances begin to unfold, Arin draws closer to the truth behind mana, magic, and the magical girls themselves.

이모는 그렇게 자신의 딸을 다시 만난다 어두운 길거리에서 감정이 없는 자신의 딸과 닮은 AI를
I really liked this game!
Gameplay:
The gameplay (at least on Elite difficulty) was actually challenging to the point where I really had to think about my next move or Arin would get hurt. I've personally never played a tower defense game in this style, but I enjoyed it.
Main Character:
Speaking of Arin, the writers did a good job at writing her (at least in my opinion). I personally liked her to the point that during gameplay, I was more focused on protecting her than I was on actually winning the battles.
Art:
The Character Sprites and Background artists did a very good with the art! My personal favorite sprites were Arin's normal and magical girl portraits, Arin's sprite from the main menu, and also the Operator's portrait, particularly the one that's been used in the notices here on Steam (I'm pretty sure that it's in the actual game).
Music:
The music isn't bad by any means, and I personally enjoyed the music. I was initially writing a slightly more critical review on this, but I decided to listen to some of the music again. I do like the main menu music, and the combat soundtrack feels kinda like Lobotomy Corp. in a way. I will say that the music didn't reach my standards for insanely good music. This is not the music team's fault at all. I believe that Toby Fox, Omocat, the Persona music team, Studio EIM, Mili, and anime in general have given me unrealistic expectations for music.
Story:
Now, about the story... I thought it was nice! It wasn't quite as deep as I had originally hoped, and it was not anywhere near as dark as I was expecting when I initially heard about it. (For reference, I was expecting something a bit Omori level in terms of "darkness" if you know the game). The story was more simple than I expected, a lot shorter, and it did a little bit of tell instead of show (and not to the point that I was fully satisfied with the answers) about some of the story's main mechanics late into the game, but overall I enjoyed it.
Suggestions:
If the developers are reading this, i do have a few small suggestions about the game itself. Not big reworks or anything. I personally think that an "Extras Menu" for lack of a better term could be nice. A place where players can rewatch cutscenes, listen to the music, and maybe look at sprites from the main menu could be helpful. As it currently stands, in order to watch post-combat cutscenes, you would need to recomplete the combat. Additionally, I do remember one or two other songs that played at some point, but in order to find them, I would have to basically play through the game again while listening for them.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this game is a short and simple but enjoyable experience with a small cast of lovable characters and gameplay that isn't particularly confusing but at the same time requires you to think smart about your next move. I would recommend playing it if you have two to five hours of free time (depending on how well you can adapt to the gameplay). It's definitely a good free pickup. By the way, if the Operator has a name and I missed it or she doesn't have a name yet but the devs give us her name later, may someone please let me know what it is? Thank you for reading!

되게 신선한 타워디펜스 게임 독특해서 즐기기 좋아요 스토리가 슬퍼요 ㅠ 나이트메어 모드에 스토리 추가가 크게 없는건 아쉬워요
oh no, it's like in madoka magica all over again free short and fun game, the progression isnt tedious and the enchantments allow to build your own playstyle!! bittersweet(?) story, the contrast between the cutesy city-defenders magical girls and the horrors of unknown monsters attacking everything they love is always interesting :3 i 100%'d the game in less than 2 hours, i wish it was longer but- it would probably just drag on the story it's great they added a nightmare mode, both as an epilogue and as a harder "final" level of sorts
Nice story, but gameplay is an incomprehensible mess.
Not much to say, really. You get what you see in the trailer and, at least for me, that was fun.
짧고 재밌고. 무료라서 더 좋고
Cute, short, fun and why tf is this free. At least make it five bucks or something so I don't have to feel bad about enjoying it as much as I did...
I really liked this game, my only complaint is that I cannot give money to the developers. Seriously, this game is kinda fire. Story was acceptable, that dark malhou shoujo stuff that got popular with Madoka Mágica (one of my top5 animes), pixel art is really good and the soundtrack, albeit it lacks some variety imo, really improves the gameplay experience. However, what really elevates this gem is the gameplay. Upgrading and positioning the crystals, what and when to upgrade, which weapons to use, all those decisions bring a lot of personal experience and replayability into the game. Found the boss gimmicks very creative, only disliked that one that freezes your crystals, that was annoying lmao. Speaking of negatives, I really wish there was more interactivity on the world, since the pixel art is really pretty and detailed, which is a shame. Overall, a very fun, albeit short, experience. Not only that, it is free, so no reason to not try it out.
