About
Dear Magical Girls is a story-driven defense game where you reshape a magical barrier to hold back waves of beasts.
Arin is a magical girl in her fourth year on the job, tasked with protecting the mana stones that keep the city’s magical infrastructure running.
Between sleepless shifts and emergency dispatches, she enters the Otherworld, raises her barrier, and fights off the beasts lurking within.
Move the vertices of your barrier to expand or shrink your territory.
Attack enemies with mana cannons that travel along the barrier lines.
Expand your territory to secure more resources.
Shrink the barrier to concentrate your firepower in a smaller area.
Keep buffs inside the barrier, and push harmful debuffs out.
You’ll need to keep reshaping your barrier based on the state of the battlefield and the position of nearby resources.
When things get dangerous, stop time, reposition your vertices, and prepare for the next attack.
Use the mana gained from expanding your barrier to add new vertices.
More vertices allow you to form more complex barrier shapes, increasing your offensive options.
Upgrade your attack power and attack speed, and build the shape and firepower you need for each wave.
As the story progresses, new modules and enchants will be unlocked.
Equip new attack modules, and use enchants to enhance the traits of your existing ones.
Reshape your barrier around the movement and attack patterns of your modules.
With each wave, the beasts grow stronger. Victory depends on how you shape your barrier and manage your mana.
After each mission, you’ll return to the city and see Arin’s life as a magical girl.
Meet Charlotte, a veteran magical girl; Lily, a girl who admires magical girls; and the people living throughout the city.
As emergency calls keep coming and mysterious disappearances begin to unfold, Arin draws closer to the truth behind mana, magic, and the magical girls themselves.

A short tower defense/puzzle game with an interesting and dark take on the magical girl concept. Gameplay can be a little chaotic at times with a lot of variations especially with the field effects, and monster and boss abilities. Enemy designs could use a little work they all look so similar, there are instances where I am taking damage from somewhere not immediately noticeable, due to ranged monsters being hidden by other enemies. The worldbuilding was good and the mystery and ending was decently set-upped. I still have a lot of questions about the mechanics of mana and such or what really happened in the end, but it adds to the mystery and charm of this game/world. TL;DR: Good game, Interesting story. 7.5/10
It's a fun game with an interesting concept. I kinda wish I could have paid for it because of how much I like it.

Nifty bite-sized game with a pretty unique gameplay system—relatively simple but has frequent enough adjustments and new mechanics to stay engaging for the full duration. The story isn't anything new or groundbreaking, but hit enough of the classic dark magical girl narrative beats to successfully ruin my evening. There's not a ton of it, but the pixel art is very nice too.
Fantastic game! I'm normally not a fan of the micro-manage-y tower defense type games, but the fact that it hardly feels like a tower defense helps a lot. Tons of fun with the different abilities and progression, fun alternate playstyles with the different weapons and engravings, and just an overall captivating ride from both gameplay and narrative from start to finish. It's like barely over an hour. Please play it!
Short and sweet with a concept that was new to me. Quite fun, though could be made even better with a balancing pass.
I just want to talk to Kyuubey...
The gameplay its surprisingly easy to understand and not too difficult (even in its highest difficulty) its really entertaining. During the non-combat time it feels like the game was designed to let you explore some of the city, but the developers didn't implement that. its a shame, because the story is interesting enough for you to want to explore.
