scary

BUEN SURVIVAL SE VE DE LOCOS
I cannot express in words alone how much I adore the lore and worldbuilding in this game. The Ishimura is such an amazingly eerie setting, and I love the ship’s progressive ruin and deterioration. Plus, the environmental storytelling is fantastic, particularly the integration of the Church of Unitology’s fanaticism, even if the narrative and characters themselves were unremarkable. I LOVE NECROMORPHS!!! They are so unique and engaging. Thematically, they are fantastically mysterious, and they have a strong and horrific visual aesthetic. The dismemberment mechanic is unique and a great subversion of enemy weakpoint tropes. The Marker is an equally ominous and memorable symbol, only becoming more interesting as you learn more about it. The combat shines by seamlessly integrating traversal and puzzle tools—like Kinesis and Zero-G—directly into combat encounters, giving players incredible room for creativity and skill expression. It’s paced fantastically, never overstaying its welcome and fights always feel fresh through consistent differentiation in enemy type, environmental factors, and/or weapon choice. Unfortunately, my PC didn’t have a fun time running this, so the visual uplift I feel unable to comment on, despite it being my most anticipated part. I did encounter some minor bugs, particularly one where enemies became invisible. However, this was solved by reloading the game and was only minimally impactful. Whilst I still prefer the original, this is a perfectly good way to experience Dead Space. This is a must play for anyone even slightly interested in horror.
