the most detailed Dead Island to date with refined systems, graphics, location, and gameplay... but also weirdly hollow. about halfway through the game i just felt an intense feeling of "it's the same but different" and was just waiting for it to be over. (mission 18/39) i think it's worth playing, but you may get bored and have to slug it out towards the end. the side quest monologues are ridiculous hour padding, skip those

The best gore system I've seen, and can be fun for a couple of dozen hours just to murder, burn and cut up zombies. Main story is whatever. Where the game really shines is Haus and SoLA, since it's just complete insanity. Worth on sale, I'd say.
