the game is fun. i had more fun with this than expected. i got it for dirt cheap with all the dlcs with is a good bonus, the game could have used a darker atmosphere and theme and story and the pacing of the story was all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place but considering its who knows how long development hell im suprised its as good as it is having swapped studios multiple times and so on i hope DI3 regains the darker theme of the Franchise thouhg.

this game is superior to the first Dead Island but that game got overshadowed by Dying Light to the point that this game feels smaller than it presents itself to be. IF you're thinking about getting this game, put a timer for 1 hour and 45 minutes and close the game. walk away from the game for a day or 2. and if you feel like you dont want to play this game. refund the game a buy Dying Light instead.
You're not really playing this for the story, dialogues or the cutscenes, which are decidedly mediocre with a couple of fun exceptions. No, you're playing it because it feels like a game from 2010, meaning you just run around and kill zombies in first person (later half of the game ranged weapons become relevant if you're weary of clubbing zombies for 25h or so), which is somewhat rare these days. I think, besides good old-fashioned (and satisfying) zombie maiming one of the main draws of the game is simply exploring Los Angeles in a fun sight seeing kind of way. For people who will never get to travel to the U.S. or, if they do, check out the east coast first anyway. When you finish the story, you can finish up quests and level up a bit more and prepare for a new game plus. For me, eventually the gameplay loop of smashing zombies and upgrading your weapons wore thin so I stopped right after finishing the main story because I've had my fill. But for those who can't get enough, there's a lot more "content" there. I got this on sale and I'd say I got my money's worth. 7/10. It scratched the itch. Yummy.
Phenomenal game given the development hell they went through, I wish there was more DLC for it
i love game vary vary good game
This game is great, I don't understand the negative hype around it. Yes, the gameplay is repetitive, but it does it in a way that makes me want to keep playing. The melee is really fun and the physics are super satisfying. The events you get thrown into are charming in their own way and the art style is actually well done. I'd give it like a solid 7/10 which isnt a bad game at all.
nice zombie slayer game with a nice backdrop
