Reviews
Not playable in it's current state. Practically every mechanic ran into a game-breaking bug. Save system breaks the game entirely and made it impossible to progress. Settings menu also doesn't function like it needs to. Performance could be better. I spent probably an hour trying to get the game work and could only progress about 20 minutes in, didn't get to see anything scary. Shame because the game looks interesting. Bug report sent to the devs, hopefully will get the game functioning.
Game is really intriguing. Played the demo and enjoyed that, story is gripping and environment is really atmospheric. Have seriously enjoyed figuring out the puzzles. Jumpscares scared me so overall really recommend the game... unfortunately the game has some teething issues but similarly sent reports to dev mainly the Save/Load system doesn't work and softlocks you, so i had to complete it in one sitting. Recommended based on the when the bugs are fixed will 100% be worth playing !

Read our full gruesome dissection here: https://www.retrohorrorgamesmovieslair.com/post/this-new-creepy-atmospheric-psychological-horror-game-really-freaked-me-out-indie-retro-horror-game Dead Frequency (Creepy Atmospheric Psychological Horror Game) Out now for an insanely low discounted price, Dead Frequency is a darkly atmospheric psychological survival horror premised around an eerie abandoned broadcast station in the dead of night, and the sudden emergence of a strangely insidious signal-creepily referred to as a "living foreign Entity." (Have I hooked you already!) As you search an eerily vacant station for the unknown whereabouts of a missing colleague, you'll face a series of environmental puzzles. Some of which are classic stereotypical interactive trials, like fixing fuse boxes and refuelling generators, and are often solved via key item acquisition, clue uncovering and inputting the correct sequences or combinations. All while scavenging for various key cards and passwords to procedurally open up further pathways for progression. Personally, I enjoyed how the puzzles hit that sweet spot of not being overly cryptic, whilst at the same time, providing enough contextual breadcrumbs for me to figure out for myself. Once in a while, I got to play out more inventive conundrums, like concocting acid to burn through a fleshy blockage of rotting organic matter and bone! (Well if that ain't an ominous sign of things to come...) Concerning scares, following a thick slither of blood into the basement, as unsettlingly ominous sounds boomed through my headphones, only to stumble upon the gruesome blood-splattered remains of a colleague with mysterious, alien-like eggs oozing from his grimly disembowelled body, definitely ratcheted up the fright factor for me...."
Creepy and interesting environment, recommended on the price 😁
