Days Gone is an absolute spectacular game. The graphics, optimisation, story, characters, brotherhood, and especially the whole infection/zombie concept and how the plot is built around it are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. I had so much fun with this game that I actually 100%ed it - every mission and side quest, cleared all the hordes and camps, etc. And I normally do not 100% games. The overall plot twist and narrative are genuinely remarkable. Even though I usually don't bother completing games to 100%, this one simply had to be 100%ed because it's one of the best, if not the best zombie games I've ever played. Massive props to the devs. It's honestly a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shame that we probably won't be getting a sequel anytime soon, or perhaps ever, because of the nowadays hyper-capitalist business ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where everything has to be measured by predictable profits and corporate calculations. One of the characters in the game actually portrays and talks about that whole federal/state/money ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a pretty interesting way = you'll find that out yourself, though. I'm also a huge fan of zombie games in general = L4D2, Back 4 Blood, World War Z, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, Dying Light, Dead Island, etc. - so obviously my review is going to be somewhat biased because I already love the zombie apocalypse genre. I'm also a big enjoyer of The Walking Dead and similar stuff, so this game was basically top-notch material for me. Deacon is somewhat similar to Daryl, but I'd actually say he has more charisma and personality than Daryl. I don't really understand people here who keep claiming Daryl is somehow automatically better. I'd say they're both unique in their own essence, but Deacon simply has more personality and charisma to him. He isn't just grunting and saying almost nothing like Daryl did for quite a lot of his character development. Nevertheless, this game was peak. And even though Dying Light is literally my favourite zombie game, I'd honestly say Days Gone competes for first place very solidly. 9.5/10. Massive respect to Bend Studio. - PLAY THIS GAME WITH THE DLC! MUST HAVE.

The game and story are fantastic. If you're looking for a great single player storytelling game, then I would suggest Days Gone - even if you're not entirely on board with the zombie genre. I haven't even finished the game yet, and I would still recommend this to anyone that I know likes this genre of game.

Played it a lot on PS5 and its fantastic...this port on PC is even better...man, I wish they decide to do a second game...just...trust me...if you like Last of Us, zombie games ,etc. this is for you. And the story...chef's kiss.
