Yes, the game is clunky, the ladders sucks, it's a bit barebone, sometimes the artwork could be more serviceable and sometimes the game doesn't even scroll properly so you stand on thin air, but does the pros outweight the cons ? Oh yes, yes it does. It's a metroidvania that mashes up Legend of Zelda 2 with Faxanadu and some good old classic NES boss fights. The inspiration is downright obvious. Back in my day we had to pay 60 bucks for clunky ladders on a 8 bit cartridge, now you can do it for 1 buck. Imagine paying 80 bucks for Pokemon Scarlett and having way more ridiculous bugs and none of them are clunky ladders. I'll take the clunky ladders, the awesome metroidvania and buy the dev a beer.
I liked it but the difficulty was mainly tied to the engine. Some of the hitboxes were a bit rough, however the gameplay was fun. I did enjoy the music a ton and the sprites were really nice to the eyes. I liked the story and I think it was short and sweet! A nice lil game that reminds me of LOZ 2.

Are there problems with this game? Yes. Did I enjoy it anyways? Yes! Darxanadon is a metroidvania that proves that a retro aesthetic and a genre I love do moderately well is all it takes for me to enjoy a game. For an rough indie game, I got my couple hours of enjoyment. The last boss was pretty tough, some of the others not so much. Music is decent. Go in with low expectations and give it a try.
So, despite it being rough and sometimes a bit buggy, it's not actually a bad little Metroidvania once you get used to it. Buutt... Now that I've finished this game, has it added anything to my life? Enjoyment? Novelty? Challenge? Sense of wonder? Etc. No. It looks and plays like a beginner's coding project. The low cost doesn't even help it; there are better Metroidvanias for $1.
Muito bom o jogo pra quem gosta de jogos retro, falta um pouco de polimento na gameplay mais mesmo assim e muito divertido recomendo!
quite a fun game highly reccomend, alot of the jank and bugs were fixed with updates, easily worth the 50 cents, id give it a solid 8/10, you get powerful very fast and there is alot of variety
Nice short game. It's clearly inspired by Zelda 2 but condensed in a 2 or 3 hour long game. A bit janky, but it's alright.
enjoyed it so much i went back and played faxanadu because of it. once again my life has been enriched by scumhead game's
за 40руб то грех жаловаться. считай за проезд заплатил
5.5/10 I enjoyed it but it was short and the ladders made me sad
