This game is currently unplayable. The dev just threw some assets on the map, added some sounds, and invisible walls. Movement is janky, there is no control map, and is a total waste of your time.
I tried to enjoy the game but alas... it is just too terrible. Here is a list of how bad this game is in its current state. [1] Your robot can get stuck from hitting the smallest object yet the enemies can happily walk through walls and faze through rooftops. [2] The weapons your robot can use in this game are mostly useless. With the exception of the rapid-fire plasma guns, all other weapons are absolute trash. [3] Whether you sniper shot at your enemies or shoot them at close range, 90% of the time they are immune to your shots due to some idiotic bug or glitch.

"DarkStorm" is a rather badly made third person shooter with a science fiction theme. Take on the role of a giant robot to save the city from aliens or something. All you do is shoot a bunch of aliens, get stuck on walls and wrestle with the godawful controls and handling. I don't know how much of this is just a Unity asset flip, but it certainly has all the low quality gameplay problems that certified asset flips have... while this looks promising, I think the developer bit off way more than they could chew. Testing, polish, and actual enjoyable, bug free gameplay aren't "optional". The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
So doing this as feedback for the dev. This game isn't bad but it feels incomplete. There's invisible walls that would turn a lot of players off. These walls disappear as your area expands as the waves progress but if you don't realize that, it makes the game look broken and janky. Adding a semi-transparent force field visual queue would let the player know that they can't go into an area yet. This really is a must. I also couldn't find a control scheme and changing weapons would be a good option. Melee to knock back the enemies would also be nice. Not a bad free game for a quick few waves though but with those changes I think it could be really fun.
Pretty good game was fun
