DARK SOULS™: REMASTERED

One of the best games of all time, at 60fps without needing mods. I know its been out a while but revisiting this game reminds me how good the level design was here, and how much it improved in later games as well. If you somehow haven't played this game you really should play it, even at $40 its easily worth it. Its a bit dated compared to elden ring but still very much worth it. Hard not to love dark souls, even with some of the garbage areas & bosses in the 2nd half of the game. A game that actually deserves to be called a flawed masterpiece

Even though Dark Souls has many quirks and things that could have been improved, nothing beats how atmospheric, open, connected, and engaging everything is. Even in terms of gameplay and levels, you may start struggling with its mechanics and mysteries, but once you learn your way around the world and master the fighting mechanics, progression becomes extremely satisfying and natural. The mysterious and epic world always makes you push forward. Dark Souls is my favorite game of all time, it triumphs in how grounded and real the whole atmosphere behind the world and its mechanics feel.
