Video of my demo run: https://youtu.be/nkULANkyXDI I wouldn't really pay much attention to the souls-like reference. I don't think it really fits. You're a ball, and there are some monsters(and a boss), but it didn't feel like I was in a no-mistakes required battle at any given time. The physics for the ball works really well and makes for some very satisfying platforming. There are some areas that I found it hard to predict if my speed would be enough to accomplish jumps, but as you play it all starts to become more comfortable. Level design for the demo is good, it never tosses you directly into a suddenly crazy difficult stage. The difficulty does ramp up, but in a way that lets you feel confident in your capabilities. Nicely done.
Massive improvement compared to the first Dark Roll game. The movement feels way better, there is finally some actual depth perception and I haven't run into a single bug. Racing against other players' ghosts is a super cool addition for competitive players. Can't wait for the full release; I'm ready to fight more bosses as a ball!

I was extremely excited to see a sequel to Dark Roll in production, and I am not disappointed with the result. A unique physics-based challenge as you maneuver your trusty orb through the challenges of the void. Time-trial games are always intense and enjoyable to play against yourself, your friends, or the world to be the fastest. The physics are as rewarding as they are punishing. The levels are creative and test the limits of your control. The environment and atmosphere are perfect for a moody souls-inspired journey. Dark Roll 2 is well worth you're attention, so don't miss out on a great experience and supporting an awesome, solo developer!
This is a fun platformer with a dark theme! The different level elements are really cool and make for a wide variety of level designs and challenges. There are a lot of opportunities for speed running here too. I prefer using a gamepad for controls. I'm looking forward to the full game release!
super fun and smooth. always excited to see what the next level brings. challenging but there is a baby mode :3
I played it on the Steam Deck, and it runs great there. I really enjoyed playing this game. It has great graphics, nice gameplay, and an interesting atmosphere. The controls are smooth and easy to learn, making the experience enjoyable from the beginning. The game offers a good balance between challenge and fun. Overall, it's a well-made game that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great gaming experience. <3 What impressed me the most is that this game was created by a single developer. I'm honestly amazed by the amount of work, creativity, and dedication that went into making it. It's incredible to see such a polished and enjoyable game made by one person. Huge respect to the developer, and I can't wait to see what they create next!
Oh man, I've been waiting for this sequel for a while now. I loved going through the demo, the game has been completely overhauled. It honestly feels like I'm playing a Dark Souls game, except I'm a random rolling ball instead. The movement feels way more fluid than the first game. Rolling has a nice weight to it without feeling sluggish, and jumping is much more responsive, which makes the platforming feel fair even when it's difficult. The lighting and atmosphere are a huge step up too. Every area has its own vibe, and some of the red-lit environments genuinely look amazing. The sound design also deserves a mention. The music and ambient effects make the game feel much more intense. I also love the addition of leaderboards for every level and being able to race against your own ghost or other players'. It's one of those features that makes you keep saying "one more run" because you know you can shave off another second. Overall, this demo got me even more excited for the full release. If the rest of the game keeps this level of quality, it's going to be a fantastic sequel.
The game was supposed to be about rolling a ball, but it quickly turned into a psychological test of the human ability to cope with failure. It goes something like this: The ball rolls. I feel good. The ball rolls too far. I get angry. The ball jumps. I get shot at by some green projectile. The ball falls off the map I cry. I restart. Highly recommended, can't wait for full release.
The movement feels great, and there's was a good balance between exploration and puzzles/challenges. I played on the hardest difficulty, and while there was definitely a learning curve, it wasn't too frustrating and I felt like I was making progress at a decent rate. I look forward to playing the full game!
As soon as it was announced I was immediately excited for the sequel to one of my favourite indie games of all time, and this demo did not dissapoint. For people like me who were a little worried the feel of the original would be lost between releases that is not the case. The graphics, sounds, and overall vibe feel like a very natural evolution from the first installment. As this is just a demo I don't have a whole lot to say about the game as of yet, but if you liked the first one you'll absolutely love what this one is looking to become.
