About

Return to the classics with a dark fantasy twist. Build twisting mazes, bait enemy paths, and stack absurd artifact synergies as you push your defenses further each run. Play solo or jump into online co-op with up to 4 players and turn your maze into a deathtrap together.
If you miss the era when tower defense was simple, readable, and brutally satisfying. This is that vibe, upgraded. Thoughtful choices, unique runs, and a loop that keeps pulling you back in!
In Dark Fantasy Tower Defense, your layout is your weapon. Shape the battlefield into a labyrinth that forces enemies to take the long way around... right through the kill zone. Every tower placement, choke point, and corner matters.
Build, command, and defend the Kingdom of Caeredale in Kingdom Defense, a new RTS-inspired tower defense mode.
Kingdom Defense expands the core maze-building gameplay with kingdom management, resource gathering, production chains, trainable units, commander leveling, spellcasting, online co-op bonuses, and castle defense. Build your settlement during quieter moments, prepare your defenses, then survive the horde when the battle begins.
Gather logs, stone, ore, and gold. Refine materials at production buildings like the Sawmill, Mason Workshop, and Smelter. Upgrade your kingdom through multiple tiers, rebuild and improve castle walls, train soldiers at the Barracks, upgrade units at the Blacksmith, unlock blessings at the Church, learn spells at the Wizard Spire, and purchase useful items from the Merchant House.
Your Commander now grows stronger over time, gaining experience from combat and unlocking new spells as they level up. Trainable units can be commanded in battle, upgraded, and assigned different stances or formations to help control how they fight.
Kingdom Defense can be played solo, but the horde is better faced with friends. Team up in online co-op to defend Caeredale together, coordinate building and combat roles, and earn bonus experience and gold while surviving the waves.
Kingdom Defense blends real-time strategy, base building, resource management, online co-op, and maze-based tower defense into one larger survival mode. Defend the castle, manage your economy, build the kingdom, and hold back the dark fantasy horde.
Your towers get stronger, faster, and can shoot further with upgrades! Each run, upgrade your favorite towers and choose between two distinct upgrade paths to match your build:
Wizard Tower: unleash explosive cluster bombs, or focus into a devastating laser beam!
Lightning Tower: jump damage with chain lightning and shred groups or blast the skies!
Ice Tower: freeze the earth with powerful slows… or launch a giant snowball to smash the front line!
Arrow Tower: Triple shot or poison your enemies!
Lookout Tower: Deal double damage or splash damage on enemies in a large group!
And it’s not just damage dealers... build Support Towers to supercharge your defense:
Archer Camp: boost the range of nearby towers
Barracks: increase the damage of nearby towers
Each run is shaped by what you buy, what you find, and how you stack effects with your team. Every 50 waves, visit the Merchant where you can purchase up to 3 of the 20+ items that can alter the run from economy and utility boosts to power spikes that change how your maze plays.
On top of that, your hero can collect 25+ player artifacts with game-changing effects. Unlock an artifact chest every 20 waves to Mix, match, and stack synergies (especially in co-op) to create wild builds that push towers, enemies, and the rules of the run in your favor.
20+ Merchant items to customize your strategy mid-run
25+ player artifacts with unique, run-defining effects
Stack effects in co-op for absurd synergy and team builds
Every run plays differently thanks to randomized pick-3 options for Merchant and Artifacts to build variety
Level-Up to get Artifact Keys to unlock new artifacts and reveal new items for purchase at the Merchant!
Build as a team, adapt as a team, and survive as a team online as a group of up to 4 friends. Coordinate maze layouts, cover weaknesses, and lean into synergy because the best defenses are the ones your friends helped ruin (in the best way). Local Co-op up to 2 Players! NOTE: Local co-op will require a controller for player 2.
Play comfortably from the couch or at your desk! Dark Fantasy Tower Defense is fully playable on controller with smooth menu navigation and responsive in-game controls. Local co-op players can each use their own controller, making split-screen sessions easy to set up and feel great to play.
Start your runs across 10 distinct maps, each with its own layout quirks, obstacles, and challenges that change how you build your maze and choose your upgrades:
Boulder Canyon
Magma Plains
Flame Sprite Grove
Crimson Rampart
Fighting Pit
and more!!!
And this is only the beginning... more maps are planned, bringing new hazards, pathing puzzles, and fresh ways to break the horde.
Orc warbands with Boars, Orc Riders, and Orc Rider Captains. Take down the mount first, then finish the rider
Haunted Trees and Ghosts that turn the battlefield into a nightmare
Flying threats like the Thorax that punish weak anti-air coverage
Kobolds that swarm and slip through bad layouts
Stone Golems, Ogres, and Minotaur that soak damage and break through sloppy choke points
Mimics because treasure is treasure
Mini-bosses like the Battle Wagon and Zeppelin. When they go down, they drop orcs into the fight
A Final Test: A flying Dragon boss that demands a real build, not a lucky run
Maze-building gameplay that turns pathing into your primary strategy
Kingdom Defense mode with RTS-inspired kingdom management and castle defense
Resource gathering, production buildings, kingdom upgrades, and multi-tier progression
Trainable units with battle stances, formations, upgrades, and combat progression

Dark fantasy atmosphere with a retro-styled presentation
Easy to learn, hard to master: layout, timing, and synergy win runs

Cute simple game! Controls are made for a one handed accessibility I think though. You don't build on your mouse cursor, your little wizard is a mouse cursor? I'd def say worth 5 bucks or so.
My favorite new TD style game. Not just a boring collection of maps on rails. You actually get to maze the enemies through the towers in any config you please it's so satisfying. 10/10 would buy again.
Good simple tower defense game with a nice aesthetic. Basically you move your lil guy around to plant towers and pick up coins to build more with 100 waves per level, looking forward to future updates.
Co-op tower defense where you get to create your own route on the map using towers? Different Maps? Upgrades? Artifacts? Merchant? YUP.
Great ideas here but poor execution sours it - bugs and jank abound
I think this is a rough gem. I think the gameplay is ok, but the graphics are annoyingly bad and don't make sense to me. The resolution of the playable character differs from the buildings, as for the backgrounds, what makes it a mess. I think it would be good for the game if the developer can improve on this. I love this genre, i hope this becomes a good one!
The game has this way of just sucking up your time. You'll be playing for 20 minutes, and only after the round is over do you realize it wasn't 20 minutes, it was 45. It's absorbing.
Loving the game! The roguelike elements are a refreshing addition to classic tower defense gameplay.
If you grew up on Warcraft custom maps like Wintermaul and Elemental TD, this will hit you right in the nostalgia. Dark Fantasy Tower Defense nails that classic tower defense feel satisfying choke points, and a maze-building loop that actually rewards smart pathing over luck. The roguelite layer adds just enough run-to-run variety without overcomplicating things. Tower upgrade branching (laser vs. cluster bomb Wizard tower, chain lightning vs. anti-air Lightning) keeps each run feeling distinct, and the artifact system has real depth — especially in co-op when synergies start stacking between players. It is funny to be able to upgrade, demolish or create towers in the same area with friends. Making it chaotic or self sabotaging entertaining in their own way. The developer has clearly built this with love. Easy to pick up, hard to put down, and already wishlisted. Looking forward to seeing where this goes with future map and content updates. Nostalgia factor: 10 / 10 Build variety: High Co-op potential: Excellent Small suggestions for the dev: Target priority options — being able to set towers to focus first, last, strongest, or weakest would go a long way for tighter builds, especially when juggling flyers and tanks in the same wave. Manual gold collection — gold dropped by enemies currently auto-collects, which is convenient but removes a small layer of tension. Even as an optional mode, having to physically pick up coins could add an interesting risk-reward dynamic to the chaos of later waves. (If it's intentional, totally fair — just food for thought!)
Hella fun game, reminds you of the old WC3 mazing maps.
