It's just a bad game. The game mechanics, the open world, the story, the character designs, even some of the systems are just poorly designed. And don't even get me started on some of the bosses, because their are not hard at all they are incredibly repetitive. It's just a very bad game and that sucks, to be honest.
Well.... Honestly not a bad game, but a game that should have been polished more.. both on release and after, but even so, with friends its quite enjoyable. The story itself was meh, but not the worst, but there were some really annoying characters '' yes I'm talking about Ash '' that made me wanna shoot him in the face. But... a 6/10 from Catto and Eliz, was quite cringy, but.. as the gameplay itself was nice. Best of wishes from Catto! TL;DR Far departure from the first game now you use iron-man suit From mission based gameplay to semi open world, which comes with its own curse and bloat Story is either no improvement from the first game or slightly worse Questionable choice on full randomized gear stats Only "kind of recommend" it on heavy discount Long ver: *Bought it on full price, but didn't bother with DLC. Positive: Bossfight are quite fun due to park break and knockdown, but this doesn't mean that the bosses are totally helpless, they will still put up a fight, some even punish you quite hard if you either got the build that doesn't meet its terms (but you can still brute force it if you know how your suit work and comfortable with it) Going for Fashion will not punish your build, then again you can also use transmog to cover mismatched parts to prioritize looks Skills/Mods/Mutations is varied, from basic stat increase, very useful skills/abilities, niche skills/abilities to borderline meme skills/abilities, all of them have their use and specific uses and fun to mess around with Movement is quite fluid, you can go fast, really fast Gear progression is relatively smooth, and you don't need the best stat- top of the line gear to proceed through the contents NPC wingman/party, you can go with 2 NPC to roam around and help you in exploration and combat, they also sometimes point up POIs One of the famous/infamous boss from the 1st game is back, and its still really fun to fight him Take it or leave it: ~It doesn't feel like a mech game for me, more like Anthem and Iron Man suit, but I see that you like Anthem on previous comments so this might be a plus for you ~ Theres a card game ..somehow, don't really know much and won't say much since I choose not to engage with it ~ Serviceable art direction, tho its leaning a bit more to realistic especially the effects leaving the the more stylized look from the 1st game ~ Voice work is lacking, tho I'm sure the VA itself is fine since at times you can see them shine, but the voice/line direction is a bit rough ~ There are vehicles or other mode of transport, all have weird control and handling (Think of Mass Effect rover that easily flip and skid), then again these are not necessary since you can just outrun and outmanoeuvre them easily with your suit Negative: Story is not any better than the 1st game, the premise is kinda there but the execution is.. just painful, you can skip it tho, which is nice Bosses only have limited types/"bones" the rest are either upgrade (by adding 1-2 parts/moves), reskins with stat bumps, or both It's open-wold and it comes with the burden of open-world games, empty spaces, lackluster areas, shoe-horned item gathering, fetch quest and more It strays too much from the first game, you don't feel like a mech anymore (because you are not, which is fair), it feels like DxM in name and this is a spinoff game While you can just push through main story just fine with minimal gearing, they added something that are questionable; Randomised Gear stat and rarity, and it randomised EVERY stat of your gear; such as fire rate, ammo, damage, bullet speed, reload, etc for the weapons and HP/VP, femto capacity (basically mana), stamina, weight, boost speed, etc for suit parts. Which is mindboggling to me why would they add this? Because this is not really a looter shooter, my only conclusion is to pad runtime. While some may be okay with this but I want my 2 IDENTICAL guns to shoot the same fire rate, have the same mag, damage and reload, is that too much to ask for? Tailing that, are full RNG stat; the "dungeon/underground facilities" from the 1st game is back, but just as bland, slightly easier, and it also have RNG on top of RNG, because you need a security clearance/card as a "key" to access it, and there will be rarity mutator also for these keys. While yes this will slightly limit the loot pool of said dungon to target farm, but you cant really know what's inside unless you explore every single (loot) room and I am aware that you can skip certain if not most of the room since most of them doesn't really give anything of value. So basically it will be either time wasted or some odd % dungeon that you want, then just need to grind those if you want gears with the same (if you are dual wielding) or gears that have better stat. And no there are no way to modify the stat through using the item that you gathered from the open world, you just have to grind either the dungeon or the enemies that have them in their loot pool (and that is if they have them equipped at their body when you kill it) Movement can be janky at times IMO not really worth the 70$, but my 70$ is different than others 70$, so theres that Conclusion: It has some of the bones to make it a great game, the ideas they trying to convey sometimes shines through, but it suffers from identity crisis, while trying out new things and directions is fine and good but doing it too harshly without proper core standings and set limits will result in unfocused mess, it is still fun yes, but I think it would be better if they reiterate and refine what they already got going on the first game
Dont buy this slop just play the first game or armored Core. They made mech fight tedious, the story is unengaging, its just farming or grinding if you do anything besides the main story. You cant convey an emotional experience if you see characters for 1 battle, show their backstory for 2 minutes and then kill them of.
If only this didn't come out the same day as a silksong, Titanic Scion would have gotten the attention it deserves. the First Daemon X Machina was fun tribute to Armored Core without being too derivative of it's influences, But Titanic Scion takes a huge Xenoblade X Chronicles to create the ultimate Mecha fan's fantasy. The sheer amount of options and choices in this to design your characters and mechas is staggeringly varied and expansive, the attention to detail in how they crafted the mechanics and their systems is impeccable and then the there's the story which pays homage and tribute to all of mech media (Not just Gundam, Evangelion). Truly one of the best unsung games of 2025.
i really enjoy games like Vanquish and open world games!! this is a must if you highly enjoy those games like i do!! I have never played or heard of the game before and have really taking a liking to it!!!
♥♥♥♥ game
Truly, truly awful.
So, overall? I don't really want to recommend this. But I didn't entirely hate it either. If you plan on playing this alone? Absolutely negative do not recommend. The reasons for this are; - The plot, once again, is atrocious. The first game was already a terrible example of storytelling but the gameplay was fine and you could skip through it. This game puts it front and centre a lot of the time, so you are stuck skipping through a lot, getting a new loading screen and then skipping through the next slop filled dialogue that just loses all substance when you are 20 hours into the game and the sheer lack of any coherent storytelling has just melted your brain. - Jank is the name, and it remains the same. There are so many rough edges to Titanic Scion and at many points in the game it will show and frustrate you. Either being stunlocked by weird attacks, getting launched by a tiny rock whilst you are doing a driving mission, horses (yes, horses) deciding now is the time to LEAP at any point, really odd balancing of overworld mob strengths giving you a jarring F2P MMO experience at times where you go from fighting a weak guy to suddenly facing off against the exact same guy but on crack.... the list goes on. - Scaling of the difficulty is number go up scaling. Yep, just bullet sponges and you getting nearly instant killed. I wish they had some better difficulty options but hey, it is what it is. - The world.... is just boring?! There are so many really cool places to see and explore but there is just... nothing of value worth doing?? The mobs are almost all the same, the grind of the game has you killing and fighting the same groups of enemies again and again, the treasure hunting is just egh, the racing is so jank that it's best only done once for the sake of having done it... I was hoping to find far more special encounters in a lot of the more interesting places or perhaps some cool NPCs or settlements but it's just all generic... At the end of the day, you go from having fun exploring to just using the fast travel because it's just not worth looking around anymore. - There's a card game, and it's just a timewaster that is not fun at all. It feels like it was added on to just pad out the game with more stuff. - Waaaaay too many loading screens. - The supposed highlights of the main story lead up to a massive battle. Do you get to experience said battle? Where there are more enemies than ever before on the screen? That every cutscene and dialogue has hyped up? That you have been pining for with a bunch of "Go here and do this" quests????? Yeah no you don't get to do squat. Ride a horse through it and run through some corridors lmao loser you can go do REAL PROTAGONIST THINGS. Man what a waste of potential... The Pros? You can customise your exosuit quite well, you can adjust your playstyle to whatever build you have, we have arm guns again (although a lot worse than the previous game), the music is okay at times (I am so sick of tragic song number 1 that they spam through story moments because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they only have one sad song and they WILL get their mileage out of it) and the boss fights have some cool designs and SOME interesting mechanics. That's pretty much it. But with a friend, it becomes tolerable. You can do a surprising amount of goofy things and a lot of the cons tend to fade into the background when you can laugh at them or face them with a friend. Suddenly only one of you gets launched in a race and the other can still finish the mission. Suddenly the jank that kills you immediately isn't that bad because your friend is there to pick you up again. The monotony and terribly bland storywriting? You can easily move past it when you and a friend begin mocking it. We had moments where alone, we would have both quit, but we managed to move past it. And we ended up having more fun than we thought we would. Did I want this game to shine more than it does? Yeah absolutely I spent over 40 hours trying to polish this turd into something that inevitably, we did have fun with. There were moments where we were both hyped and loving what we were experiencing, but they were definitely blurred by everything else surrounding them. Would we do it again? Probably not lmao We vastly prefer the previous game over this one, but it was still fun to get together, fight some bosses, collect our builds and beat the game. If you are curious, give the demo a try. And if you think you want to experience the whole thing after, just know that it's not really a dish you should eat alone, especially at that price point. Grab it on sale, take a buddy or two into the mix. Know that there will be jank, know that it won't always be good, but know that friendship makes most things in life far better. And at the end of the day, I have to give Friendship a thumbs up. Not Titanic Scion though, god no! Only do this to yourself if you have a friend who will go through it with you. And be sure to remember; this game will mess with you both. Stop the progression of one of you in the main story, force you to go into singleplayer if you want to use certain systems, and no matter what you end up doing, give you a loading screen count that bethesda would be proud of. I really hope if we get a sequel that it improves on what they have. Focus on the gameplay with the suits/mechs, don't just pad the world out with nothingburger content! Hell I'd rather they go back to mission gameplay if they are just going to give us mining nodes and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horse racing!
The game is fun, but lacks in enemy varity, mech part and weapon varity, has unpolished NPCs and unpolished map design. Also I smell asset filps. Definitly needed more love and effort, feels like a missed oportunity.
