I'm not really a review person but i've played this game because a good friend of mine worked very hard on it but that aside i still want to give this a honest review. Starting with the negatives. The game has ALOT of game breaking bugs which had me reload/restarting the game a couple of times such as me picking up a hat and not being able to move anymore, picking up a painting and getting stuck etcor even being able to interact with objects through walls. Also some of the audio cues in game were so loud even on a lower volume it made my want to throw my headphones across the room. Oh and someone forgot to texture the typewriter. Now the positives which there are quite a few. I LOVED the creature designs and vibe of the game it really shows how much work some of the artist put in. I also really liked the painting puzzle even though it was pretty straight forward i still liked it alot. Okay final thoughts! I like the game and i think it has potential with some bug fixes and fine tuning so id recommend it to people if they want a short little horror puzzle adventure but don't mind having to relead/redo some sections of the game a couple of times.
Curtain Call exceeded my expectations. Considering it's a free game developed by university students as a project, I had a great time with it. The classical theatre setting immediately stood out to me, and the music does a fantastic job of creating tension throughout the experience. What I appreciated most is that the game doesn't rely on cheap jump scares. Instead, it keeps you on edge through its atmosphere, sound design, and the feeling that something is always slightly off. It's proof that horror doesn't need constant scares to be effective. The gameplay isn't particularly difficult, but it's not so easy that you can completely switch your brain off either. It strikes a nice balance and works well for a shorter experience. I also really appreciate the recent bug fixes, the addition of achievements, and the new ending. It's great to see the developers continuing to support the game after release. Overall, this is an impressive project and a very enjoyable horror experience. I'm looking forward to future updates, and I'd love to see what the developers create next.

Beautiful horror game, the update added a lot of fixes and made the game way more playable (and longer!) than when it first came out. It's genuinely scary and the mannequin sequence is really really tense (i shat my pants...). The gameplay keeps you engaged but I wish the achievements were a bit more special/challenging given how much potential this game has. 100% would recommend playing! ☆
Curtain Call surprised me in a good way. It has a creepy atmosphere without relying too much on cheap jump scares, and the overall vibe kept me interested from start to finish. There were a few genuinely scary moments, but what stood out most was the tension and mood the game creates. The visuals, sound design, and setting work well together to make the experience feel unsettling and immersive. If you enjoy horror games that focus on atmosphere and building suspense, Curtain Call is worth checking out.
Still progressing but the game really nails the atmospheric tension. Even when I predicted a turn of events it would still catch me by surprise so good game design there. The puzzle feature, hitboxes, and controls are pretty clunky at times but otherwise it's great!
Just started playing the releases for Breda University of Applied Sciences I am a complete outsider but I do like to see what these teams have been cooking up. this is actually one of the better games from this year's groups, the fright factor is well and alive. the mannequin enemy that acts like doctor who's weeping angels is so awesome. the game only had one issue for me, that was the key in one of the top hats, it only allowed me to grab the object at a specific angle. besides for the combination lock almost al numbers are represented on all paintings (some were inaccessible) so it left me no choice but to try every combination it was something 528 or there abouts. anyway the game was pretty fun!
I wouild ♥♥♥♥ the living ♥♥♥♥ out of one of the devs, his name is Doteki. Also bug rapport, the padlock puzzle is bugged, Doteki will be punished for this in his ass. Curtain Calls is an incredible game that deserves far more attention than it gets. From its atmosphere and presentation to its engaging gameplay, every part of the experience feels polished and thoughtfully designed. It manages to be both fun and memorable, leaving a lasting impression long after you've finished playing. One of the biggest strengths of the game is the clear passion behind it. The developer, Doteki, has created something genuinely special, and that dedication shines through in every detail. The creativity, style, and effort poured into Curtain Calls are impossible to miss. And while the game itself is excellent, it would be impossible not to mention Doteki's legendary reputation. Not only is he a talented developer, but many fans would agree that he's exceptionally handsome. Some might even say distractingly attractive. The combination of skill, charm, and creativity has made him almost as impressive as the game he created. Overall, Curtain Calls is a fantastic experience and an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable game. Five stars. I will kiss Doteki on the mouth
Interesting game. Wish the enemies were more challanging and the magic was better utilised, just shot the people in head IGN reviewer difficulty on. Many bugs but fine. Also wished the mannequin followed for the rest of the game not just downstairs, was most tense part of the game.
AMAZING VISUALSS, incredible work done on this game by a team of students! It's a little buggy, but those are kinks that can be worked out in future updates, definitely recommend it to people who love horror puzzle games! And for Doctor Who fans, there is a Weeping Angels mechanic that is used in the game :)
