Decided to buy this because I was a fan of the art style and I'm a sucker for a roguelite. The gameplay is fairly simple at the base level but, since there's no tutorial I wasn't able to accurately address my mistakes and improve. There doesn't seem to be a tutorial apart from brief, nondescript instructions which consisted of "press right click to block" and that was it. Apart from that there are 4 different items you're meant to pick up and balance in a way that would lead you to winning so long as you timed the blocks correctly. That last point is where my frustration lies, the sword indicates +1 to "actions" but, I don't know what the "actions" are. The wands take 1 second off the round time which helps you progress a little faster, the coins are money but, the amount you get is rather pitiful considering that a new character is 1000 gold once you unlock the corresponding achievement and the last item are "cups" and they heal you for +3 which is abysmal and since most of the upgrades have a detriment to them that I was never given an explanation on, I end up losing once the stars seemingly begin to hunt you when there are significantly more than previous rounds. I wish I could remember the round I am referring to. As far as bugs go, I didn't encounter many but I was also only playing for a little over 30 minutes. That being said the bugs I did encounter were: 1. Upon purchasing a new character, the "Pay 1000g" text was never replaced with a description of what the new character does until after I had played a game and went back to the lobby. 2. This is the one I encountered repeatedly and rather frequently - stars would seemingly materialize out of the middle of the map instead of beginning at the edge and flying through. 2a. Another problem with the stars is that it would indicate that I had successfully blocked 2 at once but, I would either still get hit despite both stars vanishing or I would end up seeing one of the just-blocked stars re-materialize in a fraction of a second almost like the block made it blink in and out of existence for a split second. I will note that neither of these happened every single time I blocked multiple stars. They were both randomly occurring and the only thing that seemed to make them happen more is when the map would become heavily populated. I would like to see the devs add an in depth tutorial that further explains not just what the items do but, also explains the meaning behind the various terms such as the "+1 action" prompt when picking up a sword. The only reason I would reccommend this game to someone is if I knew they enjoyed the art style and roguelite genre in the same manner that I do because although my experience wasn't amazing by any standard, it was a fun, visually striking experience regardless of the minor bugs and for $2.99, I honestly can't complain. To the devs, I truly hope you continue to update and improve this title, there is a lot of potential here and I would hate to see it go to waste because of an unsuccessful launch or whatever the reasons may be. I only had time to play one round but, the amount of work put into the last several updates was shown in that short amount of time. I only stopped playing due to a lack of time - however, this dev listens and is creating something for the players making the purchase. I would buy this again.
