I've played and replayed so many Half-Life mods growing up. First person shooter engines nowadays have obviously improved and are nothing like Source. However those countless hours playing HL mods are a big part of my personal gaming history. Cry of Fear has allowed me to relive the HL mod experience, while remaining in awe of the work that went into making this mod. The models, animations, cutscenes, sounds and level design are beyond anything I thought possible in a mod. Looking at the credits, you can tell that with so few people working on the project, this was a labor of love. I recommend this mod if you are looking to relive the clunky HL mechanics while discovering a world that pushes the boundaries of the Source engine while delivering a unique narrative experience.
