Cry of Fear is a psychological single-player and co-op horror game set in a deserted town filled with horrific creatures and nightmarish delusions. You play as a young man desperately searching for answers in the cold Scandinavian night, finding his way through the city as he slowly descends into madness.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

While i like this game and a lot, i would not recommend it to others, the hand to hand combat is specially not very fun, the attack animation of the enemies are not synced correctly and they deal damage before the animation ends, the horror elements while interesting and likeable, are somewhat superficial at presenting their symbolism and unless you watch or read an explanation they aren't presented properly. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous for a Gold Source game and the atmosphere is well built, some of the levels and puzzles are a bit weird from a design standpoint and. Some of them get very tedious after a second playthrough. A diamond in the rough, a little overrated but still a very good game and even with its flaws makes an unforgettable experience.

One of a kind game. Push through the cheap jumpscares and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzles and you have a rare experience that you would struggle to find something similar to. Worth giving it a shot, even if you're not a fan of horror (I never was). As a bonus, this game is old. You can probably run this thing on your 15 year old laptop.
To be honest, I don’t understand at all why people are even remotely interested in this game. And it’s not even a game—it’s just a Half-Life mod. It starts off well, but you quickly realize just how many problems the game has. Everything is poorly designed: from the UI and how you interact with it to the enemies, the inventory, and how you interact with the environment. The developer is so carried away that in some messages saying a door won’t open, he puts a period at the end of the sentence, but in others he doesn’t. I see that there are still relatively recent updates for the game, so I really don’t understand why the developer isn’t trying to finish his unfinished game. Playing something like this in the summer of 2126 is madness. Give it a pass—you won’t be missing out on anything. I’ve had enough of wandering through corridors the size of an ant hill, of how easy it is to get killed, of the hordes of enemies, and of locked doors you can’t open—until you watch a YouTube walkthrough asking, “Where do I find the key to the door?” because you can only spot anything lying on the floor with a microscope. It’s trash.
