Bridging the gap between old-school dungeon crawlers (Diablo I), arcade RPGs (Ghouls’n’Ghosts) and combo-driven fighters, Crumbling World is a casual dive into dark fantasy.

Fun unique game.. finally something a new I love the art work and options to play different characters. Cool concept and loving the challenge. I was waiting to buy this game , I had an crash issue that was resolved by the developer within minutes - he is very quick to help ! Definitely worth it !
If this game were still in Early Development, I would give it a thumbs up...because I see potential and its an interesting idea worthy of exploring. However....having played the game, its bad. Full price is a bit insulting considering the quality put out. Devs should have invested their time more efficaciously. Yes I said "efficaciously". Because the end result as it is, is not effective. Looks and plays like an unfinished demo, but I can let the aesthetic choices go, but too many other issues right out of the gate. Clunky mechanics, unclear objectives. For some odd reason they chose to make the typical attack button (X or square for PS) your shield and the B button is your attack...who does that? Why? And no customizing the controller. Also, there seems to be no dash/roll move. It really needs one to feel good. Obviously a short one, as falling off the edges of the path is a constant part of the play mechanic. Maybe one gets unlocked later, but if its part of the game it should be a fundamental mechanic from the start. Also, very first play through, I fell into the under world only to get GLITCHED out floating above the floor doing a weird dance with my arms up (stuck in falling animation) monsters could hit me but I could not aim to hit them. Just feels like a game that was abandoned in early concept. I see no comparison to Diablo or Ghouls and Ghosts. If Devs update the game and polish it up a bit, I might change my review.
2.6 / 5 : Buggy . Only Buy On Sale! Barely Thumb's Up. Arcade-style action meandering dungeon crawler with a lot of problems. Basic game has some interesting specific mechanics, but is riddled with bugs and HORRIBLE balance design flaws. Glitched-type errors/bugs are not game ruining. But game balance problems are. By the time I got to the king's son boss, I couldn't beat him, so I decided to explore the underworld with the boat and, after a couple of deaths, wound up going from 80 health, 120 magic, 150 attack, and 140 defense to (no joke) 1000 health, 2000 magic, 150000 (one hundred fifty thousand) attack, 50,000 defense. In the normal dungeon levels, there are items to find that increase stats by integer numbers between 5 and 30. Every bonus balanced by a negative: a +15 magic might come with a -10 health, etc. I was level 12 when I first hit king's son boss. But the underworld chests have *multipliers*, scrolls that multiply a random stat by 2-5 times. The game designers seem to have a serious math problem! It doesn't take that many 4x multipliers before stats go wildly out of range. And once the stats are out of whack, everything else is too. I learned that experience earned appears to be calculated on the amount of damage possible, not actual, so with 150,000 attack, every single thing that died caused me to go up a level. By the time I got back to the boss, I was level 150. And my 1000 health was totally insufficient. Either my stats or my level made it so I was a glass jaw: I could kill almost anything with a single hit, but I also died from any hit from most monsters. So to beat the king's son boss, I had to go back down and raise my health up to 80k before I could beat him. Every level grants 2 (two) stat points. So going up levels didn't affect my stats (as a percentage) anymore, nor did any of the treasure items in the normal world. So dumb. Restarting the game didn't help because I had the same type of problem: either unable to beat the bosses or unable to keep my stats under control as they shoot up to nose bleed levels . I would not recommend this for more than about $5 and you really want a fantasy arcade fighting wanderer with decent voice acting, good graphics, great cut-illustrations. I would mark this thumbs down except hoping they devs will change (ie remove) the underworld chest scrolls.
I chose the archer but the dodging is hard so it was not perfect. After that, I chose the golem. I saw the Einar boss, but I did not beat after the 8th restart. That was the end for me. - I hate the rush, so this is the most annoying part for me - controller is recommended but the dodging is hard with the controller - bad saving system (and there is no saving icon) - NPC can fall down - NPC can't use the gondola - there is no map, only a useless minimap - there are no fences (It would be able to prevent the falling) - sometimes impossible to collect the exp rewards (and there is no shadow under the exp star) - not polished, not finished game - little music - bugs (character collision, UI does not respond, camera bugs) + solid low poly art + character selection (I can't beat the 2nd boss with archer) + random generated map but there is a story + good animations 5 / 10
ok
The world crumbles and the gameplay loop surrounds such. It can get a bit annoying but if the dev made the gameplay loop different than the title that would be the only reason to write a bad review.
