In Costly Adventure, Match-3 gameplay meets the concept of roguelite runs. Party of adventurers is seeking a mighty artifact but they must meet the ever increasing payment demands from the bridge Troll.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

It’s a match-3 game, but instead of just matching, you also have to pay—because apparently, even fantasy worlds have bills. Every bridge? Toll. Every shortcut? Gold. Every bad decision? Expensive. It’s like Candy Crush meets medieval capitalism, where trolls act like landlords and your wallet cries for mercy. Match heroes, fight monsters, and go broke in real time. I would sell my sword for rent money again.

Was will man mehr. English: The game is surprisingly funny, with nice and charming graphics and story. There even is a level up system- and its free. The charakter sprites could be a bit more colorful, sometimes it needs a bit to long to identify the right one to choose. But this doesnt change the fun you will have. I suggest to try it.
"Costly Adventure" is what looks like a mobile app that got rejected by Google and Apple. Well, they have QA departments, and Valve has Steam Direct. It's a match-3 that has a lightweight, badly done "RPG" aspect stuck on with library paste. What do you do in the game? You play Candy Crush but with phoned in pixelcrap "art", and get annoyed by the bolted on "gold" transaction system that gates ongoing rounds of Candy Crush. So, this features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. I think we should give the "developer" the benefit of the doubt and assume the pixel characters aren't flipped stock assets. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $5 USD for this. Imagine charging $5 for pixelcrap. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
This is a really cool matching game! You are fighting/looting treasure chests, and if you beat it, you go further down the map and get a choice of rewards. Then, you go to camp, pay the troll toll to save the boy's soul, equip inventory items, and distribute skill points. Then on to the next fight. There is an ending to the run when you beat the last boss and get the orb. The dynamics of the game and skill point progression are really what make this. Skill points add abilities to the tiles (which are different characters, like paladin, druid, etc). For example, a certain skill gives attacking next to a paladin an attack bonus. After a match, the paladin next to each character becomes highlighted to let you know that it was adjacent. Another example, the paladin and druid can be linked so that when one attacks, the other attacks. The game shows a wavy line every so often between the two indicating that they are linked. So rather than a bunch of flashy effects when matching that don't really mean much, the match indicates special effects and the total damage done for every match, including cascades - on every tile/character matched. So, nearing the end, matches look pretty awesome with all of the effects, but they also indicate what is happening (taking into account skills chosen). This is a pretty awesome buy, and the price is good. I would buy this again, even if it's not on sale.
Žůžasný!
