I've found that this is a wonderful tool that assists greatly in keeping me on-task and organised during long work sessions. It's not distracting enough to pull you away from whatever you're working on in most cases, but it's enough to provide a tiny bit of dopamine between long stretches of boring work. The progression is slow enough to make me feel like It'll be a while before I max everything out, but quick enough to make me want to come back and keep playing. I've also found that it's quite subtle- if you play for, say, a few hours straight (as I have been doing while taking uni notes), you'll notice a satisfying jump in progression. Half an hour? Likely not so much. If you're buying this looking for a game that you can sit down and devote your full attention to, you probably won't enjoy it. I'll update this review once I start going for a 100% of this game, where I'm sure the majority of my irks with this game will come from. It seems to be VERY similar to Webfishing, where you have to catch every type of fish at every quality, which was a soul-sucking nightmare. Cornerpond does, however, have an ease of access and automation that Webfishing didn't that makes me think that the "grind" won't be too bad... especially if I'm mostly concentrating on something else for most of the time it's open. Don't expect something super revolutionary. I mean, in the end, it's a semi-automated $3 USD desktop game about catching fish, designed almost with the specific intent of running while you're doing something else. I knew that going into my purchase and I'm plenty satisfied with it.
