Control rests on the it's excellent level design, atmosphere, cryptic lore, and sound design, and makes it a game that is almost a masterpiece. But let me first describe things that belew my mind was the architecture of the Old House, wow, the way they have used brutalist architecture with the supernatural and surreal is incredible. Secondly, the sound design is shockingly good, and so is the sense of discovery due to the level design with lore around each corner which gives you short snippets into the unfolding cryptic tale Remedy has threaded across its games. Thirdly, the side missions, most of them are just worth doing as they are great, and well scripted, some are a little filler, but generally definitely worth it, and the perks of upgrading your character is a huge bonus for the later combat scenarios. Lastly, the voice acting is also pretty much at point, along with performances, a highlight for sure, so is the DLCs, definitely one of the more excellent DLC expansions to a game with rich lore. But there are a few small design issues that hold the game from becoming a 10/10: One is the repeating enemy types, with just higher difficulty levels. The variety is a little low, but the world, and its metroidvania style of structure eases this a bit, but Remedy probably needs to improve on this for their upcoming sequel. Two, is the map in the game. It is confusing, and tedious to use. I get that Remedy probably wanted you to be lost in the Old House like it was meant to be, and explore each corner to find your way through sign posting, but after sometime it becomes a little tedious, and also the sign-posting is not perfect, so can be frustrating. Finally, certain combats are in red lighting and also the enemies glow with red, and red affect, so when there is a lot of stuff on the screen can be difficult to see. I think there should been a variation in the colour palette to make the enemies stand out a little more. These are the 3 things I found irriating about Control, but it is no way a deal breaker. The rest of it is genuinely fantastic, and if remedy can fix these small issues I think Control Resonant would be something to behold. For me Control is a 8.5/10 game, not in my top tier, but something I would remember for sure, and highly recommend to everyone.
Loved the Setting and the Athmosphere but the Gameplay was boring. Shooter mechanics were basic an repetitive. There is a HL2 Style "Gravity Gun" but it does not help either. You get it early in the game and thats it. Puzzles are tedious. You eihter have to find a power source or you have to find the Socket for a power source and that is basically it. I got this game for a few bucks, that is ok I guess but definitely not worht a full price title. Saw the Ending after about 15 hours, despite doing quite some sidequests.
好
The combat is fun and satisfying, especially with all the telekinetic abilities, and the Oldest House is an interesting setting to explore. My biggest problem was the confusing level design. I got lost quite a few times, and some missions weren't very clear about where to go. The story is interesting but can also be confusing, especially if you don't pay attention to all the documents and lore. Very good and unique game, but the navigation and some repetitive combat hold it back. 8/10
好玩,战斗爽,战斗方式很新奇,视听效果很棒
Replayed before Resonant, still one of the best single player games out there and might be my favorite third person shooter out there. I am also a big sucker for massive amounts of lore/story that adds on top of the narrative. You truly feel like this is a world to get lost in. Art Design, Game Design, and Level Design all combine into such an outstanding game. This game also frequently masters puzzle design where it's tricky enough to make you think but not hard enough that you get that itch to go read a guide. ONLY gripe is that just like Alan Wake 2 it could benefit from more fulfilling boss encounters, but that's kind of hard when Jesse Faden is one of the most powerful characters in canon. I hope Remedy continues to have creative freedom with enough money to keep going. They deserve to be in the conversation as some of the big dogs without a second thought.
Control (Ultimate Edition) is a good game - and that is a very general evaluation. To be precise, this game baffles me in its design. The story is good. What is amazing, is how story and game play are interwoven, exactly what I expect of a game. That means, you slowly get more and more abilities, and how you get them and what they are is closely connected to the story. And every ability adds something to how you play, sometimes very profoundly. The upgrading system and resource part of the game does not feel satisfying and properly balanced out. And that is the first tiny bit of the baffling part. Because just this fact feels weird in a game that has such perfectly joined story and game play. Connected to that of course is that you have to get resources and "level up" and all that, so you get side missions and times missions. In principle a sensible idea as part of the game inside the story. However, the map is simply atrocious! Of the 15h I played so far, I have certainly spent 5h wandering around not finding where I have to go to get to those side missions. It feels so extremely halfhearted. And it seems so weird that they never fixed it. Most of the problems would be solved by uploading a new graphic showing a map where you know how places are actually connected. And this would save you hours of frustration. So much frustration so I almost considered a thumbs down. How can one make a game that has a great core but then mess up exactly those things that you could easily fix?! In this case I really would wish for a more elaborate grading system for games other than only a oversimplified thumbs up or down...
