Conqueror’s Blade is in a pretty bad state right now. The game itself still has one of the most unique combat systems out there, combining hero combat with controlling units, but the playerbase has been declining and the game is becoming more and more niche. Balance is another major issue. There are a lot of units, but having a large roster doesn't always mean having real variety. The meta often pushes players toward specific strong units and counters, so instead of choosing what you enjoy, you can end up feeling forced to play whatever is currently effective. The declining population makes everything worse. Fewer players means more experienced players in matchmaking, longer queues in some modes and less variety in the people you fight. This creates a vicious cycle where new players leave because the game feels too difficult, which causes the population to decline even further. The game also has a lot of systems accumulated over the years. Seasons, units, doctrines, equipment, upgrades and other mechanics can make the game feel unnecessarily complicated. For veteran players this is normal, but for someone coming into the game today it can be overwhelming. The frustrating part is that the core game is actually very good. Large battles, siege warfare and controlling your troops still make Conqueror’s Blade different from almost everything else. The problem isn't that the game has a bad foundation. The problem is that the foundation is being surrounded by years of balance problems, complexity and a shrinking playerbase. So I wouldn't say Conqueror’s Blade is completely dead. It's more accurate to say that it's slowly losing its relevance. It still has dedicated players and enough content to keep the game going, but it doesn't feel like a game that's growing anymore. In my opinion, Conqueror’s Blade could still recover if the developers focused heavily on player retention, matchmaking, balancing the meta, simplifying the new-player experience and giving veterans a real reason to keep playing. Right now, though, it feels like a great game that is slowly being killed by its own problems. And the fact you make a suggestion in their Discord just for it to be ignored even if theres others agree with ur suggestion.Current state is a full greedy game where theres unbalanced weapon classes and unbalanced units. And releasing CB3K was a horrible attempt to just grab more money, please focus on Conqueror Blade and make old units and classes properly usable. This is coming from someone with over 1.5k hours of this game since my.games
