Pros 1. 40+ hours into the game, and I just realized everything so far was only the beginning. That's insane. 2. Their story has rearranged my lifetime imagination 3. The facial detailing and emotional rendering are something Ubisoft still has a lot to learn from Cons Only thing here is a bit repetitive combat, but its understandable bc I'm suck and hf torturing myself to defeat danger zone at early game. Overall: So hard to get any game like this again in decade/10
This is an amazing game. From the story itself, the way it is unveiled, the voice acting, the character development, the layers of depth, the environments, the the sound track - everything is just fantastic. I was speechless seeing how well real complex emotions were portrayed in the faces of the protagonists. The only things that prevents (in my case) this game from being 100% enjoyable instead of only 95% are the overly complicated combat mechanics - with four different kinds of attack avoidance (dodge, parry, jump, gradient) then on top of that each character has a totally different attack mechanics. I also felt that the relationship development mechanics between the characters was a bit of an afterthought and a bit forced onto the game rather than letting it evolve naturally based on the player's gameplay.
Selten von so einem Spiel so gefesselt gewesen. Ein absolutes Meisterwerk!

honestly, what final fantasy should have become.
Just finished the game. The story is indeed amazing like everyone said, but it feels very depressing at some points, but entertaining nonetheless. Graphics are astonishing and the landscape feels like a fever dream. Soundtrack is out of this world, characters are well written, and the side characters like Esquie and Monoco are goated. Boss fights are cool, but I'm not a fan of the turn based mechanic, sometimes fighting a lot of these enemies in the game feels very VERY repetitive... Other than that, no complaints. 9/10 for me.
This game is a true work of art if you like connecting with characters, feeling empathy, and seeing a unique story. This alone makes it one of the more memorable games I've ever played. The story is so interesting. If you sort through and really work at understanding what is going on (which takes too much effort...there are still points I feel a bit in the dark about and will probably sleuth answers on the Internet), it will move you to tears. Gameplay, I'm honestly looking for more. The battles are rather redundant. Thankfully, the characters have a ton of variance to them which gives you a good amount of experimentation you can do with each character having their own interesting wrinkles in their systems of how they do combat. The #1 game design complaint I have is how there are so many times where it looks like you can climb a rock and there's a barrier that is invisible in the way. That is such a bad experience in this day and age. Maybe a personal subjective issue, but it was really irritating to me. I'm so down to see what Sandfall does next. They absolutely blew me away with this game and stand with Larian as a game developer who is pushing the envelope, creating unique experiences, and really making games for players to love.
a year later and im still listening to the soundtrack, ridiculous good game and i CRAVE for another turn based game with parry mechanics
Absolutely stunning game, best story i have ever seen in a video game, insane story writing and the graphics and gameplay are amazing too, combat mechanic and the parrying is very satisfying and overall 10/10 for me. Love this game
