Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

This was my first real turn-based RPG unless you count Pokémon, so I had no idea what to expect. I went in completely blind. The only thing I knew was that it completely dominated The Game Awards, and I figured a game getting that much recognition deserved a chance. The moment the main menu appeared and the music started, I knew I was about to experience something special. The soundtrack is incredible, the world immediately pulls you in, and before I knew it I had poured a dozen hours into it without even realizing. Learning that this game came from a relatively small team that came together through a series of lucky circumstances makes it even more impressive. I still haven’t finished it because I’m taking my time exploring everything, but if the rest of the game is anything like what I’ve played so far, this is going to be one I’ll never forget.

This is an amazing game. From the story itself, the way it is unveiled, the voice acting, the character development, the layers of depth, the environments, the the sound track - everything is just fantastic. I was speechless seeing how well real complex emotions were portrayed in the faces of the protagonists. The only things that prevents (in my case) this game from being 100% enjoyable instead of only 95% are the overly complicated combat mechanics - with four different kinds of attack avoidance (dodge, parry, jump, gradient) then on top of that each character has a totally different attack mechanics. I also felt that the relationship development mechanics between the characters was a bit of an afterthought and a bit forced onto the game rather than letting it evolve naturally based on the player's gameplay.

I have never been an RPG or turn based RPG lover. I only played this game because of tik tok. Thank goodness I did. This is my favorite game I have ever played. I don't know how to explain to someone what's so amazing about it. The world is immersive and intense, rich in details and in beauty as far as the art and imaging. The story line is intriguing and every character is interesting. The music is insane, I listen to the sound track in my car. I CRIED in the PROLOGUE of the game!. You have to play this. I wish I could wipe it from my memory and just play it over and over again.

I finished this game for the stoy without 100% completion. i was told to complete it, they were right, this game offers so much main story and side stories, they are all collections of human emotions, suffering and happiness. the music 10/10, story 1000/10, visuals 10/10 and the content was so much , this game would be my childhood if i was ever a child, the amount of memory making, i never thought i would be able to make ever in my life again. THANK YOU SANDFALL for this beautiful game, it may be the best game i have ever player, atleast top 3 since being born

play it since the very first day the game publish, didn't care about it at first, until I realized that it was on a discount by 10%,and so I bought it and wow, it is one of the best experience I've ever had
