Capsule:
Hallucinations is effectively a tech demo with a good looking model. It does quickly skid multi-track drifting style into the weird with a femdom, a Dwarf? Gnome? Gremlin? with a huge tool, and a leech/slug that is an amazingly versatile sex toy. Somewhat recommended on sale. 5/10 all purpose sex slugs.
Long Review (Story section at bottom contains spoilers)
-Technical:
DL size :~182MB ; Makes use of unity game engine ; Playthough review was done using kb/mouse. (not a VR headset)
I initially tried to get this to fire up on an ancient Radeon HD6870 paired with a Ryzen 2600x and it would effectively hang on startup. After dropping it in a machine with a better card (Vega 56) it ran smoothly in windowed mode. While I can’t confirm it, a video card with 2G of memory is probably the minimum spec for desktop play.
On startup you can set a preferred resolution on startup and two quality settings (what this impacts is unclear) The technology used is on par with similar adult titles that make use of the Unity engine. (ex: Blind Date 3D) The movement is smooth and seems acceptably natural. Most textures are good for the environment. The model does have either a slightly oiled look or stretch marks on her skin. I’m not totally sure. It didn’t bother me much and I suspect it is more a function of the texture trying to do the work that more polygons should be doing. Is the model attractive overall? Yes. It is probably the second best part of this program so that’s something. There are spots where clipping occurs. Especially if you move around with the WASD keys.
-Gameplay:
The game portion barely exists and why I call this more of a tech demo than a game. You are to resist getting off for as long as possible. On kb/mouse this is by pressing the space bar to resist. Press the space bar rapidly as long as possible for the best time. I’m not sure if there is a reward for going so long or not. I did see the model kind of do something unique during the second stage (she got off before I did?), but I’m not sure if that changes anything or of it was a script glitch for the model. After you clear the story you can quick flip to various scene poses and look around. It’s all right, but I’m not sure if you want to brag to your friends about your best time, nor do you want to kill your KB in a quest for glory.
-Why you’re here:
I’ll be honest, the model is pretty good overall despite some technical issues (clipping and textures). The thing that helps is the voice work. While the lines are weird in spots and repeat a bit more than I’d like, it’s believable and pretty sexy. It works. I’d like to hear her doing more work where applicable. The thing that is a BIG mixed bag are the scenes. That well voiced decent model is doing it with the dwarf thing, and of course there is the all purpose sex slug (leech). What I mean by that is the slug is able to drain you on it’s own, act as a condom, attach and pleasure her genitals, and as a strap on. Versatile, but really weird. If this does not interest you, or is a turn off, just move on. If you are feeling like you need a new fetish for your collection, see the capsule for that part. Was it still hot? Yes. Was it a bit weirder than I’d like? Also, yes.
-What could make this better:
- Have the timer work correctly. Currently it counts to 60 sec. and does not increment the minute portion. The minute portion increments 30 seconds later?
I’m pretty sure that the dev’s have mostly walked away from this title. In case they have not, where improvements can be made:
. Work on the clipping issues: Do a QA pass to reduce the really bad clipping offenders will keep the immersion decent.
. Toggles to make it (slightly) less weird: The dwarf is distracting and disturbing. Especially when just sitting there and talking over her. The ability to disable that, while leaving the scenes with him boning her as is, might work. The other being a different texture for the leech/slug to make it somewhat less disturbing.
. A few outfit or accessory choices for the model.: This would be more of a wish list item, but clothing and / or piercing choices could be explored.
-Story:
There’s barely a story to speak of here. [spoiler]You show up in a clinic with an attractive woman asking you questions. You sit there and a naked dwarf-thing with massive genitals pops into existence and starts talking, and doing things with the good doctor. If you pay attention the pictures on the walls change, and there is something slowly making its way across the floor. You are asked to relax and wake up in crazy femdom territory. Resist (or don’t) the four stages of the dom session[/spoiler] and that’s the game.
