Chronos Trap in Time is a high-octane vertical rogue-like shooter that blends classic arcade action with deep, modern progression systems. As a champion of the Gods, you must ascend through shifting battlefields, overcoming mythical hordes to challenge the ancient Titans in a fast-paced quest for glory.
Victory isn't just about fast reflexes; it's about the choices you make between the heat of battle and the sanctity of the heavens.
In-Run Evolution: During each descent into chaos, collect sacred ingredients to brew temporary potions and gather immediate blessings. These provide the tactical edge needed to survive the current wave.
Eternal Divine Favors: Death is merely a gateway to greater power. Before each run, speak with the Gods to unlock permanent upgrades that stay with you forever.
God-Specific Mechas: Every Greek God grants you access to a unique Mecha tailored to their divine essence. Master Zeus’s lightning-infused machinery or the crushing tide of Poseidon’s steel.
Hephaestos’ Flaming Forge: Visit the God of Forge to upgrade your entire arsenal. These permanent enhancements affect all Mechas and weapons, ensuring that your firepower grows exponentially with every material you claim.
Tactical Weaponry: Beyond your Mecha's innate abilities, develop a specialized weapon kit. Customize your fire rate, damage patterns, and elemental effects to build the ultimate Titan-slaying machine.
Bullet-Hell Mythos: Engage in intense vertical combat against waves of mythical enemies. Experience smooth, responsive controls designed for precision dodging and dash-attacks.
Titan Showdowns: Face off against gargantuan bosses in multi-stage battles that will test the limits of your build and your skill.
Will you be the one to reshape the heavens? Prepare your Mecha, seek the blessings of the ancients, and begin your ascension.

In my opinion, the game is great, surprisingly good for an indie developer, actually. It’s not just a simple shmup, it’s also a roguelike action game with quite deep gameplay dynamics. I’ve never seen this specific combination before, and I really liked the result. The in-game upgrades are well-thought-out and connected, forcing you to actually read carefully and think before choosing. It’s a bit challenging, but I loved that. The difficulty system is very original. I haven't encountered anything like it before, or at least, I haven't seen it implemented this way. You pick the amount of difficulty modifiers that you want activated, then that amount of difficulty modifiers will be selected randomly from 20 different difficulty modifiers, and these change constantly during the run. It adds a unique structure to the gameplay, though I have a few gripes. For example, I think 20 difficulty modifiers is a bit low, I’d prefer at least 30, with modifiers that bring even more variety to the maps. Also, you're required to beat the game at least once just to adjust the difficulty. Why? I feel like those difficulty settings in the Hades menu should have been accessible from the start. I wasn't a fan of that restriction, but overall, I find the system very creative and fun. I want to congratulate the development team, and I’d love to see them deepen the difficulty adjustment mechanics with future updates. Conclusion: I highly recommend this to fans of both shmups and roguelike action games. Genuinely fun.
A seemingly ordinary man named Astreon is suddenly brought before the god Zeus, who has a serious problem. All of the imprisoned Titans have escaped. As luck would have it, Astreon is a very capable mech pilot from the future, and a mech appears to be the only thing powerful enough to stand against the Titans. Olympus now serves as your base, from where you head out into battle. The gameplay is an interesting mix of shoot’em-up and roguelite elements. You control a flying mech that fires its main weapon automatically while you aim at incoming enemies, which can appear both in the air and on the ground. The stage scrolls forward like in a classic aerial shoot’em-up, and the goal is to reach the end of each stage. There you choose a perk from a random selection of three. Unless the upgrade affects your main weapon, most of them are not particularly useful, so it is often better to take free resources instead. Besides the main weapon, you have four additional abilities that activate after their cooldowns finish. One of them is a dodge move with the fastest recharge, allowing you to avoid damage from shockwave attacks. The others include homing missiles, a shield, and a grenade. Part of the appeal is that you can pilot several different mechs, each associated with one of the major gods such as Athena or Ares. The main difference between them lies in their special power, which can only be activated after filling a bar by dealing and receiving damage. Most of the customization, however, comes from the gods themselves. Each god offers six perks that can be purchased with metal bars dropped by defeated enemies. A perk only works when you pilot a mech linked to that specific god. Zeus, for example, lets you fire lightning bolts at nearby enemies, while Artemis shoots arrows every few seconds. Metal bars can also be spent on permanent upgrades such as increased health or higher damage for your additional abilities. Another option is to equip potions, each of which comes with both a positive and a negative effect. Potions are available in three tiers with stronger percentages at higher levels. In addition to metal bars, crafting them requires other materials that become available later in the game. Unfortunately, each run plays out in almost the same way, which quickly becomes repetitive, especially because you cannot progress very far. The gods’ perks do not make a significant difference, and permanent upgrades become increasingly grindy as their costs rise with every purchase. To unlock something more meaningful, you need to save enough bars to upgrade the garden. Every garden upgrade unlocks access to new materials that are obtained through a mini game. The first one, for example, asks you to quickly match one of four directions that appear at random. The mini game can be played as many times as you want, allowing you to grind for resources. However, the potions you create cannot be stacked, so you must drink them before heading out on a run. Overall, the concept is interesting, but the game lacks the satisfying feeling of becoming stronger over time. It also struggles to create that compelling “one more run” motivation because of no randomness and repetitive stages that rarely reward you with exciting upgrades.
honestly such a solid modern take on the old school shmups. the movement is super snappy which is a huge relief. i was worried an isometric shooter would feel floaty but it’s tight. the roguelike upgrades are actually interesting too, not just boring some 5% dmg buffs. some of the bullet patterns are absolutely brutal but they feel fair once you learn the loop
Good game! Engaging game play which is not so common in this genre. Uppgrades that you take during the game makes you powerfull but doesnt change the game play so much. But anyway, fun to play with well disayned rogulike mechanics.
It is super fun once you get into the mechas and start fighting. The game is fairly challenging and I really enjoyed it. Very highly recommended!
Deep and fun gameplay. Liked it!!
It was an excellent game reminding me of old school arcade and SEGA shooters. The variety of weapons and attacks kept the game interesting to me. Highly recommended.
It's a great game, I just downloaded it and I really like it. I recommend it.
Im really enjoying this one. The war room where you pick the mechs is such a cool touch, and the actual combat is fast and feels right. It is good, fun game. Really glad I picked it up
Very entertaining game! The atmosphere is incredibly immersive and cool. It is rare to find a game with such a unique sense of style and such gripping, well-designed mechanics. The tutorial is a bit brief, which leaves you to figure some things out on your own at first, but it actually adds to the sense of discovery once you get the hang of it. Overall, very entertaining.
