About
Set in a post-apocalyptic world teeming with mysterious creatures, Chronomon combines monster taming and farm sims for a single, seamless experience. Catch them, train them, evolve them - then take the fight to the Epoch Syndicate, while uniting towns through trade, non-linear quests, and, of course, defeating the villains that threaten everyone. Don't forget to take care of yourself: Hearty meals and plenty of sleep matter as much as chronomon in the vibrant, ever-changing world that's yours to explore!
Want to share the experience? Play anywhere thanks to cross-save support for all devices (Mobile Android/IOS) and take your game on the go! Consoles and Smartwatch ports coming soon.
Catch over 100 monsters (in both regular and rare varieties with unique traits), who will fight for you, explore for you, work the farm for you - and more!
Train each monster to tweak and tailor them to fit your playstyle, thanks to a robust RPG system: 39 skill trees and over 300 distinct skills, upgraded further by scoring Perfect Hits in combat, monster Imprints, and special passives!
Solve puzzles with the chronomon, using their unique abilities to overcome challenges scattered across the map and unlock special treasures!
Put them to work on the farm, rebuilding it from scratch and gaining special rewards!
Plant and cultivate over 50 distinct types of crops, then turn them into a variety of meals to keep yourself alive and your chronomon in fighting shape. Then trade the surplus with nearby towns for essential goods.
Head out into the world to gather raw materials for the farm and take a break while fishing, with a chance to catch over 20 types of fish (and then cook or sell them).
Use your chronomon to maximize production on the farm, using their unique abilities to turn it into the agricultural heart of the world.
Customize and decorate the farm to your liking, making it a spot of joy and hope in an apocalyptic world.
Head into town to undertake quests to rebuild them and forge lasting friendships. Each playthrough is unique, thanks to branching storylines and choices that matter!
Adventure across a dynamic world, changing with the time of day. Head out at dawn for casual, mostly safe exploration - or strike out at dusk on risky expeditions with high rewards.
Experience a dynamic weather system, with drizzling rains, freezing blizzards, and other natural disasters that directly affect chronomon battles and your farming efforts.
Free the world from the oppressive Epoch Syndicate, seeking to conquer the survivors of the apocalypse for its own, nefarious ends! Players can choose to progress the story as a Farmer or Monster Tamer.

This is the game that has scratched my oldschool Pokemon itch the most and it even adds in some elements from games like Stardew. While there were a few bugs it was mostly minor stuff and the dev is great about fixing them.
Game could be more fun. If you're here to catch mons more than to farm, this might not be the game you're looking for. Battles aren't really difficult; they just take too long. You spend too much time eating/healing. Then you have to run home to rest, since potions take forever to farm early game. If you fight a strong mon, your remaining reserve mon ends up getting all the xp since the rest of your mons are dead. Feels like a waste. Could be a skill issue; it just feels like too many loops to jump through just to be prepared for adventuring/capturing/battling. Game feels really fun until you start to realize it's a lot of work for a slow return. If you love the farm grind, and mons are an afterthought, this'll probably be a great purchase for you.
I had the pleasure of playing Chronomon back during its Steam Showcase, as well as multiple instances of Demos and Early Access. With 1.0 around the corner, I cannot recommend this game enough to folks! It's fun, nostalgic, scratches a Stardew and Pokemon itch at the same time whilst feeling like its own game still. The devloper has done an amazing job of keeping the community involved with milestones and additions, that it feels like a true collaboration. So much of what makes a game great now days is the love a dev puts into it, and this game is packed with it! Give this game a go if you want to plant a turnip, catch and fish, and evolve your grass-type (not_ pokemon!
I love this game it's amazing only reason i don't have more hours is due to my huge backlog of games. All steam deck owners this is a real gem. I highly recommend it the developer is very active and dedicated to his game. Chatted on x a few times and this really is his passion. So fellow Deckies give it ago it's a great game to play on the go🫶🏻😁❤️
Game needs serious help in the rules/tutorial area. I've 'passed out' several times for no clear reason after either a random monster fight, trainer fight or climbing a latter. There is NO emphasis on the player's energy level(it's 'hidden' in the menu) even though it clearly has considerable impact to game features. So apparently commanding monsters takes energy? Fights take energy? Climbing a damn ladder takes energy? And then each time you faint 10% of your cash on hand is taken for 'emergency services'. Seriously lousy gameplay loop. Guess I'll just not leave the starting area till after Year 1.
I backed this game on Kickstarter back in 2023 and have been watching it grow since. This game is clearly a passion project and I love that. As for the gameplay itself, it's a lovely blend of farming and monster taming and the art I've seen for some of the monsters so far is adorable!! I haven't played for very long yet, but will post my current thoughts below. TLDR: Love the idea and gameplay so far and many bugs that I encountered the first time I played have been patched, but it's not quite there yet for steam deck players. Pros: Appreciate the small touches -Getting to choose how long I sleep (4 different intervals) and not forced to sleep at a specific time -Don't need to switch over to each farm tool to use them, it automatically switches based on what item (tree, rock, etc.) your character is facing -Can decide how much of an item you want to eat, instead of eating one thing at a time to restore stamina Love that you can choose how to progress! Either by battling or by helping the townsfolk is such a fun way to give the player autonomy and reasons to play again. It makes me SO happy when quests incorporate the farming/building mechanics. Appreciate that your monsters have a purpose outside of battling. Taking care of your farm, similar to taking care of your base in Palworld is a fun mechanic. Cons: As another reviewer mentioned, early game leveling is rough. My lvl 7 taking down a lvl 5 and getting only a sliver of xp in the bar isn't the best feeling. I tried battling at night to see if I got more xp, but kept getting my team wiped out (this could be a skill issue on my part though) Quite a few menu bugs -Using steam deck, the main menu buttons don't always work. I can't move the joycon up to view moves, nor can I scroll through imprints, achievements, etc. I had to use my finger to select them -Can't exit out of the chronomon PC storage menu using the B (right facing button), had to use my finger -When closing out of the chronomon PC storage, I could no longer open the main menu using Start. Opening a work station menu or exiting the game fixes this. -Clicking the right or left bumper to move through the hotbar would occasionally skip an item and I would have to go through the list multiple times to get the item I needed Overall I'm excited to get back into the game!! Keep up the great work dev! :)
Oof, it feels bad. You need a controller (which I didn't even know until I tried to get out bed at the start and just coudn't do anything) but it feels awful to play with a controller. The controls are clunky and the UI is super unclear. The mons are not that well designed after coming from something like Cassette Beasts. I'm not refunding because I'm hoping the dev can salvage the game buuuuut I don't know how realistic that is. Plus in my 15 mnutes of trying I hit multiple bugs. I know it's early access but still.
It's a little jank, there's some bad here, sure, but I think it's nice. A little adventure with some humor about building a farm and training monsters to help on said farm. Combat can be a bit hard at the start, but it does get better as you make lots of food.
Amazing game, yeh it may seem challenging but the difficulty made the game alot more enjoyable. Has good creature designs and theres always something to do whether thats farming to grind mats for pots/gold or progression with the lengthy story mode. Couldnt recommend the game enough. Iv logged a fair few hours into the game and for an early access its great! Iv even logged a playthrough of the game. https://youtu.be/xazUG80td5Q?si=nbHtG8MPcFIr_BQe
The game is a nice twist on the classic monster taming / catching game Its post-apocalyptic with hints of what the world was like before popping up. Its manage to merge both monster taming with farming sims my 2 fav game types. This was a lot of work for a solo dev and I really like the game, its familiar but different enough to be interesting. Would 100% recommend
