Rammstein - Love
RPG Maker strikes again! "Chronicles of Lurra" is one of hundreds of low effort RPG Maker flips spamming the store. It's made with a kit that says it is simple enough for a child. It's just a bunch of canned assets mixed with cringey high school anime club fan fiction. This is a painfully generic, pathetically cringey RPG Maker asset flip set in an extraordinarily generic and dry world. The high school anime club dropout fan-fiction follows the developers fantasy of traveling to a magical fantasy world and then for some reason robbing a bank. The map design, combat design and everything else is on-par with the RPG Maker asset flip nature of the "game"... awful. Like other RPG Maker "games", the game engine is extremely low quality. It displays badly in fullscreen, and has no real graphics settings or HD support. It's not up to the same standard we expect from a modern PC game. We can make the argument that construction kit toys like RPG Maker are intended for making small games and demos and things to pass around with friends. They shouldn't be used as a substitute or "Ez-mode" to allow unqualified amateurs to LARP that they're real, actual game developers. This is just more RPG Maker pixelcrap. The crap graphics are met with even worse gameplay, in no small part to RPG Maker itself being crap, and when combining that with talentless, unqualified developers using a childrens toy to pretend to be real game developers with these fan-fictions, gamers suffer. This game is fairly dated at 8 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 11 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

Easy controls, A witty narrator, and its FTP is about all that I found worthy of trying this game. Enemies seem to be way stonger than they should be for the beginning stage anyway, I also found very little healing items , except for one of the characters has a healing ability. A bit of a wate of time, but with a bit of work I think it could be a secemt little game.
This game needs something of a plot and guidance BAD.

**Before reading this review, please keep in mind that this is MY opinion and shouldn't affect how other people view this game** While I was searching for a new RPGmaker game to play, I stumbled upon this game, which despite the fact that I noticed it had mixed reviews, I still decided to give it a shot as it was free, and I thought that it could be worth the try. Oh, how I was wrong. Usually I would explain the story, but honestly, I couldn't even get that. All I know is that there is a boy named Trent who can hear the narrator speak and gets kidnapped by his so called friend to Lurra to rob a bank. That's all I got from it. There were too many moments where I just felt completely lost. There was some humor which i guess tried to compensate for...the story just throwing you right into the middle of nowhere. The music was either alright or bad (depending on what part of the game you're in), and the characters are pretty dumb. Though I had initally planned on beating this game before giving a review, I feel like I honestly couldn't take it any longer. There was just nothing that kept me feeling entertained by this game. If the fighting mechanics had been better, maybe I could have played more, but it just is one of those where all you need to do is focus on repeatingly click space bar to finish the fight. Would I recommend this? No way. There are so many better games to play, but if you want to play it, I won't stop. Thank God this one is free.
